The 15-year-old boy is accused of killing Dana Magnuson, 62, at her Hockley home.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced Monday that an arrest had been made in the case. The 15-year-old been charged with Magnuson’s murder.
The teen suspect, who has not been identified due to his age, was arrested nine days after Magnuson’s body was discovered in her shed on July 20. The mother-of-three is survived by her sons, Zach and Tyler.
‘I’m just numb,’ Tyler Pitney said.
‘The way my mom was murdered in cold blood makes me feel some type of way I can’t even describe.’

Investigators believe the assailant attacked Magnuson in the hot tub before the fight moved to her home and ultimately her shed.
‘There was still blood everywhere,’ Pitney told FOX 26, adding that the boy was known to his mom and used to help her with gardening chores.
Once under arrest, he told detectives that he wanted to see what it felt like to stab someone, sources told ABC 13.

He is currently being held at the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center. 
Magnuson was a school bus driver and an avid marathon runner. She was described as a loving mother by her eldest son.
‘My mom is the most beautiful person, both inside and out. Anyone that knows her will tell you the same thin,’ Pitney said in a tribute post. 
‘My goal in life was to buy my mom her dream home and never have her work another day in her life.
‘My mom is the best mom ever and if you had the pleasure to ever meet her or call her your friend then you know what I mean. She’s an angel and always has been.’

The tragedy is the second to hit Pitney’s family, after they lost his brother Gage to suicide.
Pitney and his other brother Zach have since set up a fundraiser to help with funeral costs.
‘My mom, my best friend, my rock, my everything-was found brutally murdered in the backyard of her own home while she was gardening,’ Pitney wrote. 
‘She left behind her two sons, her beloved dog, Mickey, and SO many other friends and people that loved her.’ 
The GoFundMe has currently raised $2,642 toward its $25,000 goal.
