<p class="wp-block-paragraph">An 18-year-old Colorado woman sent her friend eerie text messages asking to be checked on periodically before she was allegedly strangled to death by a man she met on Snapchat.<br>Annabelle Margaret Floren-Wyant was found dead with blood coming out of her ear just before 3 a.m. on Aug. 1 in the home of Jorge Mexza Alarcon Jr., 26, near El Paso, Texas, <a href="https://www.kktv.com/2024/08/05/teen-found-dead-home-northeast-colorado-springs-reportedly-had-snapchat-relationship-with-suspect/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">KKTV reported.</a><br>The teen’s friend told police she had visited Alarcon’s home to “collect money,” according to the report.<br>“[The friend] said Annabelle informed him Jorge was ‘weird’ and requested he check on her periodically via text message or phone call,” arrest papers state..<br>When the lookout was unable to reach Annabelle at approximately 0225 hours, he called 911 to report the incident. He told deputies she had visited a home to meet with Jorge to “collect money” from one of her subscribers. <br>Responding cops discovered Floren-Wyant inside the suspect’s bedroom with blood coming from her ear.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Alarcon was apprehended about three miles from his home with injuries to his face. <br>He had called 911 claiming someone had assaulted him, according to the report.<br>Alarcon told investigators Floren-Wyant had agreed to meet up via Snapchat to exchange money for sex.<br>That his guest then requested for money, but when he turned to get it, he was hit in the head with a cellphone, which caused him to black out.<br>Alarcon then claimed Floren-Wyant had threatened him and he felt uneasy about the encounter — especially since there was a vehicle idling outside and Floren-Wyant was texting someone throughout the night, according to the report.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Alarcon told investigators he got scared because he thought they were planning to attack him so he put her in a “D’arce” chokehold, which he demonstrated for police in the interview room, according to the arrest papers.<br>After he got off Floren-Wyant he went outside to his dad’s truck. When asked if he knew Floren-Wyant was dead he said, “without checking her pulse…”<br>Alarcon was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. <br>The <a href="https://www.kktv.com/2024/08/05/teen-found-dead-home-northeast-colorado-springs-reportedly-had-snapchat-relationship-with-suspect/">KKTV</a> report mentions court records showing that Alarcon Jr was charged with strangulation assault in December 2023 in a separate case which is still open in the Fourth Judicial District. <br>In another case from March 2024, a judge granted a permanent restraining order against Alarcon for a woman.</p>
