<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The mystery surrounding the tragic end of three women in Brazil who died after eating a festive cake at a Christmas get-together took a different twist after police investigations started digging into previous deaths in the family.<br>Tatiana Denize Silva dos Anjos, 43, and Maida Berenice Flores da Silva, 58, died after having the Christmas dessert on December 23. One other present at the get together, Maida&#8217;s sister, Neuza Denize Silva dos Anjos, 65, was rushed to hospital in critical condition before also dying on Christmas eve.<br>This horror happened during family get-together around the festive season, where seven people gathered to enjoy the cake at Zeli&#8217;s home in the city of Torres, southern Brazil.<br>It was reported that a family member, 61-year-old Zeli dos Anjos prepared the traditional &#8216;Bolo de Natal&#8217; festive treat consumed at the festive dinner on December 23, in the southern Brazilian city of Torres. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The medical cause of death for Tatiana Denize Silva dos Anjos, and Maida Berenice Flores da Silva, was cardiac arrest while cause of death for Neuza Denize Silva dos Anjo, was &#8216;shock after food poisoning&#8217;, <a class="" href="https://g1.globo.com/rs/rio-grande-do-sul/noticia/2024/12/24/exuma-corpo-marido-bolo-torres-policia-civil.ghtml" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Globo </a>reports.<br>It is believed Zeli ate two cake slices and was the first one to be taken to hospital after becoming severely ill &#8211; where she remains in stable condition.<br>Once, she is discharged from hospital she will, reportedly, be questioned further. Neighbors at her home will also be interviewed by police.<br>In a new development police said the Christmas Cake poisoning could be linked to a power cut. <br>A friend of one of the people who died told a local <a class="" href="https://g1.globo.com/rs/rio-grande-do-sul/noticia/2024/12/25/relato-amiga-vitima-bolo-confraternizacao-mortes-torres.ghtml" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">news </a>channel it was a traditional cake that the family made every year.<br>Civil Police who suspect either food poisoning or poisoning collected food eaten by the family and medicine in the home, some of which allegedly had expired, for analysis.<br>A police statement to local network, Globo, said: &#8216;We even have information that there was mayonnaise there that had expired a year ago.<br>&#8216;There were expired products in the residence. A bottle was found, a medicine, which should have had capsules inside it and there were no capsules &#8211; there was a white liquid and this white liquid will also be examined.&#8217;</p>

However, other evidence that comes to light may contradict what I think now.<br>&#8216;This is an investigation that requires great caution.&#8217;<br></p>
