<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Within a few short hours of posting, the backlash appears to have pushed a Tampa man to expressing his regrets after threatening the life a black girl after she appeared on his doorstep, selling candy. <br>Tyler Chambers, who is white, made a disturbing post to a community Facebook group on April 14, after his door camera recorded a nine-year-old girl named Sincere approaching his front door in the Tampa suburb of Riverview. <br>In a response which set the streets of social media ablaze, Chambers posted an image of Sincere to the page and wrote: &#8216;Your lucky we weren&#8217;t home to shoot your a** dumb b****.&#8217; <br>Chambers who lists his job as a general manager at Mister Car Wash in Tampa, has since deleted the threatening post. However the video had already gone viral. Shared and posted all over social media, immediately sparking a fierce backlash from people disgusted by his deadly threats against an innocent child, ignited discussions about racial profiling and the safety of Black children in their communities.<br>Prior to deactivating his social media account, Chambers accused the little girl of acting as a &#8216;decoy&#8217; for a break-in at his home, although he is yet to provide evidence to support his allegation. <br>In a later move to justify his over the top reaction, Chamber says: &#8216;I saw that on my camera and have a wife and 7-month-old at home, which I will protect as you would.<br>&#8216;I was hot when I posted it, , which is why I deleted it right away I could have handled it a lot different,&#8217; adding that he wanted to find the girl&#8217;s parents &#8216;to have a conversation with them.&#8217; <br>Further mollifying those he has offended, Chambers continues: &#8216;But yes I could have handled it a lot different and wanted to apologize but I was trying to protect the family and it was the wrong way.&#8217; </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Later, Beyond Shabazz, the mother of the nine-year-old at the center of the incident, took to social media to share her side of the story. <br>Shabazz said her family lives in the same community as Chambers. That day, Sincere and her 11-year-old cousin came home from school around 4pm, then went to sell candy around the neighborhood.<br>&#8216;I wasn&#8217;t aware that they were out selling candy. I was home with my 1-year-old and my mother, who has just undergone brain surgery. Usually, when the kids come home, they go outside to play, and I&#8217;m only okay with it as long as she takes her older cousins with her,&#8217; she added. <br>After learning about what took place, Shabazz said she &#8216;immediately&#8217; called the authorities and filed a police report, adding that she has no interest having a conversation with Chambers &#8216;because he and his wife thought it would be a good idea to lie publicly.&#8217; <br>&#8216;Tyler Chambers and his wife, Cassidy Chambers, stated on social media they were going to hurt my little girl because she knocked on the door.&#8217; <br>Shabazz later posted that &#8216;there&#8217;s nothing wrong&#8217; with kids going around the neighborhood to sell candy:<br>&#8216;My kids were in their neighborhoods, not the streets, in broad daylight selling candy. There’s nothing wrong with kids going door to door selling candy&#8217;. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8216;We have Girl Scouts come to our door selling cookies, and not once did we make them feel uncomfortable or post anything saying such words as what was used towards my daughter. We treat everybody with respect,&#8217; Shabazz added. <br>She also shared a video that a neighbor of Chambers sent to her of her daughter knocking on their door, trying to sell candy. <br>In a message the neighbor told Shabazz that her daughter Sincere &#8216;was not a threat.&#8217; <br>The neighbor in her message said, &#8216;I have my ring camera recording and I even went out to speak with her and the other kid with her.&#8217; <br>To help raise money for her family&#8217;s legal fund, Shabazz launched a <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-sincere-legal-fight-against-threats-to-children" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">GoFundMe</a> page which so far has raised more than $14,690 of the $16,000 goal. <br>In a <a href="https://www.change.org/p/arrest-tyler-chambers-for-threats-against-a-minor?recruiter=1120404027&;recruited_by_id=c7acffb0-b138-11ea-8e1b-b77d3a703855&;utm_source=share_petition&;utm_campaign=starter_onboarding_share_personal&;utm_medium=mobileNativeShare" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Change.org petition </a>the mom created in an attempt to get Chambers arrested for his online threat to shoot her nine-year-old daughter, she writes, &#8216;Our lives were irrevocably altered when Tyler Chambers brazenly threatened my 9-year-old daughter online, stating in no uncertain terms that he wished harm upon her for simply knocking on his door.&#8217; It has gathered almost 1200 signatures. <br>&#8216;His horrifying words, &#8220;YOU&#8217;RE LUCKY WE WEREN’T HOME TO SHOOT YOUR A**, DUMB B****&#8221; directed at my little girl, are still ringing in my ears,&#8217; she wrote. <br>&#8216;We must diligently and fervently strive to ensure our children&#8217;s safety above all.&#8217;<br>She admonishes: &#8216;Therefore, we call for Tyler Chambers to be arrested and held accountable for his threats against a minor.
