<p>An investigative journalist with Canada&#8217;s largest network, CTV, posed as pervert while embedded within a secretive sex ring, leading to the finding of horrifying videos intimate partner abuse on a man&#8217;s profile. <br>Avery Haines, working undercover had infiltrated an online sex ring where men traded horrifying videos of themselves drugging and sexually abusing their spouses.<br>Bryan Hayward, a 36-year-old contracting business owner, from Hamilton, Ontario, <a href="https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/article/canadian-man-at-centre-of-widescale-w5-sexual-assault-investigation-arrested-and-charged/">was arrested </a>last week Friday, after the W5 investigation uncovered his online profile which included over a dozen videos of women who appear to unconscious, among them footage of the drugging and raping of at least five women.</p>

<p>That discovery prompted a deeper probe into Hayward&#8217;s role in the widespread operation, where thousands of men allegedly secretly drug their partners &#8211; wives and girlfriends &#8211; then sell or trade the videos of the sexual assaults globally. <br>Following his arrest on May 16, Hayward was charged with sexually assaulting &#8216;unsuspecting&#8217; women along with several other criminal offenses, the Hamilton Police Department said in a <a href="https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/hamilton-male-arrested-for-sexual-assault/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">press release</a>.<br>&#8216;Hayward may have contacted his victims through online dating sites,&#8217; the department wrote.<br>&#8216;Hamilton Police believe there may be additional victims, including individuals who may not yet realize they have been affected.&#8217;<br>Hayward&#8217;s alleged crimes came to light through an investigation by W5, a documentary program produced by CTV News, which infiltrated the network over the course of several months. </p>

<p>Hayward&#8217;s online profile was uncovered in the course of the investigation. He allegedly had uploaded footage showing the drugging and raping of at least five women.<br>Hamilton police were promptly alerted to the potential crimes, leading to a secondary investigation by police. <br>Authorities raided Hayward&#8217;s home on Friday and seized various items, including electronic devices and drugs believed to have been used to incapacitate his victims in order to carry out the sickening crimes.<br>Those electronic devices are currently being analyzed to ascertain the extent of the alleged crimes, including identifying any other victims and uncovering additional women featured in the videos shared online, the press release stated.</p>

<p>Hayward was ultimately charged with sexual assault, administering a noxious substance, voyeurism, distribution of intimate images, assault with a weapon, operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, and two counts of failure to comply with probation.<br>Additionally, the suspect was charged with possession of methamphetamine, two schedule I substances &#8211; GHB and Hydromorphone &#8211; and an IV substance, clonazepam.<br>Hayward made a brief appearance in Hamilton court on Tuesday, where his hearing was postponed until Wednesday.<br>So far only one of his victims has been identified. Investigators are now urging anyone who has had any interactions with Hayward to contact Hamilton Police, as they believe there are additional victims &#8211; including those who may not yet realize they were abused. </p>

<p>&#8216;Investigators are urging anyone who has had any form of relationship or interaction with Hayward to contact police, as they may have information that could assist with the ongoing investigation,&#8217; they wrote in the press release.<br>Hayward is described as a white male with a medium-build, standing 5&#8217;10&#8221; tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds with brown hair and an amputation on his left hand. Individuals who wish to report an interaction are told to contact the Sex Crimes Unit.<br>&#8216;We want all survivors of sexual violence to know that we believe them and we will respect their choice when and how they report the incident,&#8217; authorities said.</p>
