<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Reaves&#8217; family believe he was shot by someone while getting off the bus.<br>&#8216;I could not process what happened,&#8217; a loved one told Channel 2. &#8216;Then they told me he got shot in the face twice, and that made it so much worse.<br>&#8216;I swear that whole neighborhood could’ve heard me [scream].&#8217;<br>Family and friends gathered in his honor the night of his death for a candlelight vigil at a local park just steps away from where he lost his life.<br>Reaves had 12 biological children and eight stepchildren. For Cheryl Heart, the mother of one of his children, his death is &#8216;really heartbreaking.&#8217;</p>

I perform at 12:30, and he bought a ticket.<br>&#8216;He was supposed to come. He came to every show. He never missed a show since I started making music. He was very supportive. He was always there.&#8217; Brown said.<br>Another daughter, Arianna James, said: &#8216;I&#8217;m just going to miss him.&#8217;<br>According to the family, Reaves planned to start a program called &#8216;Power of Fathers&#8217; in the Zone 3 neighborhood. &#8216;He wanted to help fathers get off the street, get their GEDs,&#8217; his brother Deoineta Hightower said.<br>A <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/end-gun-violence-honor-danthony-reaves">GoFundMe</a> page created by his family to raise money to end gun violence and help give Reaves a proper send off, to date has raised $$2,788 of the $4,000 goal.<br>&#8216;What was taken from us was a loving father, brother, cousin and son,&#8217; the page read.<br>&#8216;He was the life of the party by all that knew him.
