A 28-year-old Memphis man accused of shooting his girlfriend dead and tossing their two-day-old baby into alligator-infested Mississippi River, was married while dating two separate mistresses simultaneously, a court heard.
Brandon Isabelle, 28, is facing first-degree murder charges for the deaths of his girlfriend Danielle Hoyle, and their newborn daughter Kennedy three years ago.
Hoyle, 27, was found dead on February 1, 2022. Kennedy who was with her mother at the time was never found. Prosecutors say Isabelle killed his two-day-old daughter by hurling her into the alligator-infested Mississippi River.
Isabelle entered the second day of murder trial on Friday in Texas. The court heard that the suspect, then 25, had lured Hoyle to meet him in Memphis and to bring their daughter before he shot her dead and threw the baby into the river.
Hoyle’s mother April Campbell took the stand and recalled warning her daughter against becoming involved with a married man: ‘If he’s married, how do you think he’s gonna treat you?’ Campbell recalled telling her daughter.Â
She later conceded learning that Isabelle was ‘working toward being separated.’

Campbell recalled having negative feelings toward the relationship, but was happy as long as her daughter seemed happy.Â
Separately, Isabelle was also dating another woman, Artesha Stewart, at the same time he was seeing Hoyle.
Stewart testified on Thursday, sharing intimate details about their relationship and the love triangle involving Hoyle. The trio crossed paths working at FEDEX.
Stewart and Isabelle began dating in 2021 and were in an on-and-off relationship into early 2022, when Danielle Hoyle was murdered.
At the time she struck up a relationship with Isabelle, Stewart said she believed him to be single. She later found out he was married with a five-year-old child, but was separated from his wife.
She then came to learn about Hoyle, and the two women would often make snarky comments about one another and send each other nasty messages as a result of the love triangle, Stewart told jurors.
Isabelle ultimately admitted that Hoyle was pregnant, and that he was possibly the father.

According to Stewart, she and Isabelle were texting even as Hoyle was in the hospital in labor.
After Kennedy was born, Stewart brought Hoyle a paternity test after discussing the move with Isabelle.
Hoyle expected Isabelle to sign Kennedy’s birth certificate, but Stewart told the court she did not want him to.
Campbell said her daughter was overjoyed to be having another baby. She already had a nine-year-old daughter.
Prior to Kennedy’s arrival, Hoyle and her mom, as well as several other relatives, went on a shopping spree together picking up supplies for the baby.

On February 1, Hoyle introduced her daughter to her mother at the family home, and Campbell spent a little over an hour bonding with the baby and taking photos.
Hoyle then left to see Isabelle but told her mother that she needed to take Kennedy back to the hospital, claiming that she was never supposed to be released. Campbell states that she later found out that she was, in fact, going back to see Isabelle.
According to prosecutors Isabelle, then 25, lured Hoyle to meet him in Memphis and to bring their daughter before he shot her dead and threw the baby into the river.
Kennedy’s body was never found after she was was tossed into the Mississippi. Alligators are present in the famous river and have been spotted in Memphis in recent years.Â
