Berg was previously arrested for injury to a child by omission on October 14, after Dawson was admitted to hospital. Prosecutors upgraded charges against her following the death of son.
For Zamora writing in a Facebook post, his ex-wife was ‘being charged at the highest degree due to her lack of effort in protecting our children.’
Charges against Berg’s boyfriend, Christopher Alexander, 30, have also been upgraded with the inclusion of capital murder of a person under 10 years old.
‘With great sorrow I come here today to notify the public that my son Dawson has passed away. He died on my birthday yesterday,’ Zamora wrote Monday.Â

‘I’m 31 years old having to bury my three-year-old son and I obviously wasn’t prepared for this because we shouldn’t have to bury our children,’ he continued.

Dawson died on Sunday morning on his father’s birthday. Dahrian Zamora, [seen with his son], held his toddler as he took his final breath. The grieving dad claims his ex-wife knew Alexander posed a danger to their family
Dawson spent months fighting for his life in the intensive care unit, before dying in his father’s arms over the weekend.
Zamora previously claimed that scans conducted at the hospital also revealed that Dawson suffered ‘prior abuse’.
He alleged that CT and MRI scans found ‘prior bruising that was not coinciding with the healing process’ of the injuries sustained during the October assault.
Alexander had been indicted for stalking not long before the attack and had previous convictions of theft and unlawful restraint.Â
Dahrian Zamora has claimed that his ex knew Alexander posed a danger to their family: ‘He had an ankle monitor, Chelsea knew that. He was dealing with stalking allegations, Chelsea knew that,’ Zamora exploded during an interview after Dawson was hospitalized in October.Â
A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help support the Zamora family. It has already amassed more than $60, 000 of the $70,000 goal.
