A ‘House parent’ who cared for troubled teens in a group home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, has been accused of having sex with a 16-year-old boy in her care, at gunpoint, while plying him with drugs and a gun, prosecutors said.
Cristal Betancourt, 30, is accused of coercing the teen into the unhinged sexual relationship after he was placed by court order in the state run facility for teens arrested for criminal offenses, located in Feasterville, in the summer of 2024.
After Betancourt pushed him into sex, their alleged relationship continued for months. At some point bought him his own firearm
The teenager she targeted kept an account of the alleged abuse, to the extent of writing on his iPhone notes that he was ‘terrified’ of [Betancourt],  according to prosecutors.
The probably cause affidavit cites the victim’s notes where he wrote that that during one encounter Betancourt pointed her handgun at him and demanded sex.
In the the criminal filings, prosecutors allege that Betancourt texted the teen in December 2024, claiming she was pregnant, then asked him to buy an emergency contraceptive for her.
The teen was ordered to live at the home for an unspecified offense. Six months into his stay at the facility police said, the abuse was uncovered after he was found to have violated his probation by posing with a Walther PPQ handgun alongside Betancourt.

The home where the alleged abuse took place, operated by Community Service Foundation, is intended to provide housing and therapy for juveniles after they are arrested for criminal offenses.
Betancourt worked as a full-time ‘house parent’ to the troubled teens, living in the home and operating significant control over when the teens are allowed to visit friends and family.
The caretaker is now facing several charges including institutional sexual assault of a minor, possession of a firearm by a minor, corruption of minors, and endangering the welfare of children.
While the offense leading to institutionalization and probation have not been revealed, but the investigation for abuse kicked off after the teenager was seen on social media posing with a handgun, a violation of his parole.
The parole violation was flagged by authorities from his home county Lancaster, who tipped off authorities in Bucks County.

Investigators interviewed Betancourt about the parole violation and said she admitted to owning two handguns inside the group home. But only one gun was found inside the home. Betancourt allegedly told cops that she put the gun in her car the day she bought it and believes it was stolen. She then requested that officers report the gun as stolen, and they complied.
The missing gun was found to match the one the boy was posing with in the SM photo.
Asked about the photo of the 16-year-old boy holding the gun, which appeared to be the one she reported was stolen, Betancourt admitted that she appeared in the photo, which was taken by another resident of the home.
That handgun was recovered in Lancaster City in March, and the person possessing it had obtained it illegally and was charged, according to the affidavit, although the document did not identify the individual charged.
It was during his police interview that it was uncovered the teen had been in a sexual relationship with the house parent inside the group home. Officers said the boy alleged that Betancourt had bribed him with money and drugs in exchange for sex, and at one time had bought him a handgun.
Betancourt police said, took her ward to a gun store in violation of his probation and bought herself a second gun that she allowed him to hold.
Text messages found on the boy’s phone allegedly showed that he had bragged to his friends that he was carrying a Palmetto Arms 5.7-caliber pistol.

The boy wrote in his iPhone diary that he was terrified of Betancourt, calling her ‘crazy’, alleging she made him have sex with her at gunpoint. She faces charges of institutional sexual assault of a minor, possession of a firearm by a minor, corruption of minors, and endangering the welfare of children

A search of his phone also allegedly uncovered that the boy had kept detailed ‘notes’ detailing “numerous events” involving his relationship with Betancourt including that she “bribes him with guns, money and drugs in exchange for sex,” the affidavit said.
He writes that he did not want to have sex with her anymore, but was afraid she would ‘get him in trouble’ if he refused, noting that during one encounter Betancourt pointed her handgun at him and demanded sex, the affidavit said.
In January, the boy told a caseworker at the Philadelphia Office of Children, Youth and Families about the alleged acts that occurred the previous year at the Feasterville foster home including that he had sex with Betancourt three times in November.
In a police interview, the teen boy alleged that Betancourt told him sometime during Christmas week last year that she was pregnant by him and asked him for money to pay for “Plan B”, a contraceptive.
The investigation also allegedly found that the teen boy sent Betancourt “numerous” cash transactions through an app including $650 in December 2024, another violation of agency rules.
According to cell phone location data, Betancourt told authorities that she took the boy to a Costco in Warminster, where he was allowed to go, while she had actually taken him on unauthorized trips to Lancaster.
Betancourt was fired by the Community Service Foundation following the allegations. She has been charged and a warrant has been issued for her arrest, however she has not been taken into custody.
