Now known as Harriet Richards, the 30-year-old plaintiff told the Winchester Crown Court, in Hampshire, that she was barely more than a child when the sexual exploitation began.
She was plied with drugs and alcohol, then made to perform sex acts with a woman twice her age, on a webcam, for the gratification of strangers.
No one suspected at the time that 13-year-old Harriet Ashton-Phillips, was being sexually exploited in the most grotesque way at home in Chippenham, a small town in South West England.
Richards, who has waived her legal right to anonymity, is finally moving forward with her life as her sister is paying for her incest, pedophilia and child exploitation.
On December 8, 2025, Jassey Snooks, 44, was convicted of inciting a child family member to engage in sexual activity.
The defendant was 26 when she started abusing her half sister Harriet, who was just 13, by involving her in sex shows with men over webcam sites like Chatroulette, a live webcam platform where performers broadcast shows to viewers.

The court heard that Snooks consumed alcohol and drugs including cocaine, with Richards, and bought a fake ID so her minor sibling could accompany her clubbing, “where she met older men”. Infact, Harriet was just 12 years old in 2007, when Jassey first took her to a nightclub in Minehead, Somerset.
The journey into darkness reportedly, began with Snooks aged 26, kissing and touching her half sister Harriet Richards née Ashton-Phillips on an unknown date between 2008 and 2010.
Further on Snooks with Harriet as co-performer, began engaging in explicit online chats with men via webcam sites like Chatroulette.

The abuse began with Snooks, 26, kissing and touching her half sister Harriet Richards née Ashton-Phillips, then 13 sometime between 2008 and 2010. Later Snooks with Harriet as co-performer, began engaging in explicit online chats with men via webcam sites like Chatroulette
The mom-of-two who had just split from her partner reportedly, used her child-free weekends to “enjoy her new found freedom”, the court heard.
Snooks first appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court in February 2025, on nine counts related to the sexual abuse of her sister, including penetrative and non-penetrative sexual with a teenage girl and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child aged between 13 and 15.
Snooks however, was acquitted on eight counts of the indictment.
At one point Judge Bromige admonished the defendant: “You engaged in sharing explicit photographs, you would speak to [men] over a webcam whilst completely naked, masturbating in front of one another.”
On January 20, 2026, Bromige handed Snooks a 15-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 month. She was ordered to complete 30 days of rehabilitation activity and 175 hours of unpaid works.
Delivering the sentence which avoids immediate jail time, the judge reportedly, took into consideration that Snooks supports her two adult children, aged 18 and 20.
The teaching assistant was also ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years, and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten years.
The ancillary order tacks on several prohibitions to protect persons under 16 from potential harm.

In her victims impact statement Richards told the court: “From the age of 13, I was catapulted into a world no child should have to be a part of.
“Whilst most teenagers were navigating all the changes that happen in growing up I was going out clubbing, having sex with older men, drinking and taking drugs in the care of my big sister.
“Whilst my peers were doing homework I was living a double life, acting like I was a mature woman but in fact I was a child trapped in a world I didn’t know how to get out of, ” she continued.
“I can now see it for what it truly is – child abuse. This has been a hard fact to face.
“When you love your sister you don’t want to think of them harming you but this is exactly what she has done to me. She has only ever cared about herself.
“What I believed was normal was not normal. What I believed was love was abuse. Coming to understand that truth has shaped and tortured my life in ways I cannot fully explain.”
Directly addressing Snooks in the courtroom, Harriet said: “This is no longer mine to carry. This is your shame now. This is your guilt now.
“You must sit with what you did to your baby sister. I will leave here and rebuild my life. I will heal, and I will keep going for myself and for my son.
“You, however, will live with this for the rest of your life. And the world will know the truth.”

Harriet Richards, [photo], waived her legal right to anonymity, finally moving forward with her life as her sister pays for incest, pedophilia and child exploitation. Now a mother-of-two, she says she spoke up to encourage victims of similar crimes to come forward
Leaving court Richards revealed that she spoke up to encourage victims in similar circumstances to come forward, while she acknowledged the “incredible support” she received from Wiltshire Police, the First Light charity and Horizon victim support, in her journey.
“Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to go through the trial and everything else involved in court proceedings,” she said as she thanked them for their consistent support and updates on the case as it progressed.
Encouraging other victims of sexual abuse, to take advantage of available support to speak out, she referenced her trauma: “I’ve tried to take my own life twice in the past and it’s only been since I was able to speak out and report this crime that I’ve been able to start to move forward with my life and deal with this trauma.
“It will never leave me but I have some closure in that I have seen this process through and got a guilty verdict.
Advising victims embarking on the journey of self-healing that they are not alone alone she said, “I want to give hope to others who have suffered similar abuse that you will be believed and listened to, and supported.”
