Officers at US Central Command [CENTCOM], decided to strike the school using outdated data provided by the Defense Intelligence Agency, one of the premier US intelligence agencies.
The target location however, was not a military site. The strike on Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary school which was full of children is now considered one of the most devastating US military errors in decades.
Another conclusive fact about the attack reportedly, comes from examining the several videos of the bombed school bombing shared on Iranian social media after the explosion.
On 8 March, Iranian state media Mehr News Agency released a video of a missile hitting a location in Minab. The missile shown in the video has been identified as a Tomahawk missile. The US is the only country involved in the Iran war to have this weapon – neither Israel nor Iran possess the Tomahawk missile.

The Iranian school is located on the same block as building used by the regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps in the town of Minab.
At one point in the past decade, the school was connected to the base, but at some undetermined time became a separate facility as a school for young children.
