An active shooter has been reported at the Fairlane Mall in Dearborn, Michigan, on Friday afternoon. Witnesses report shots ringing out inside the mall around 2pm, following an argument between two men   

At least two people have been killed after an active shooter opened fire at Fairlane Mall in Dearborn, Michigan, the day preceding the July 4th holiday. Police sources said a total of three people were shot, two fatally, following an ‘altercation’ in the shopping mall around 2pm local time, on Friday. 
One person died at the scene, and a second victim died after being taken to a local hospital. A third person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The victims ranged in age from their late teens to early 20s, police said.
Investigators believe all three victims were involved in the incident, which police said began as a dispute between two groups that escalated into gunfire.
Shoppers scrambled for shelter after a barrage of shots were fired, which appeared to be triggered by a fight between two men.  
A man in a red shirt was seen in the footage brandishing what looked like a gun inside the mall.
Witnesses recount hearing arguing and fighting inside the mall’ seconds before the gunshots rang out.

The incident prompting a large police response and the temporary closure of the shopping mall.
In a statement on Friday afternoon, the Dearborn Police Department said ‘officers are currently on the scene investigating a shooting at Fairlane Town Center.
‘This is an active and ongoing investigation. 
‘We are asking residents and visitors to avoid the area while officers secure the scene and investigators conduct their work.’
