<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A suspected gang leader&#8217;s family came under fire in a violent drug-related incident in southern Spain, leaving three dead, including his mother-in-law, pregnant sister, and a teenager boy, according to police reports.<br>The late-night drive-by shooting happened on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Isla Cristina, a coastal town of 21,000 people in Huelva province, in the southwest of Spain. <br>Four people including an unborn child were killed in the suspected revenge attack linked to the drug trade in Andalusia region of Spain, the authorities said on Monday.<br>Two masked suspects on a motorbike opened fire outside a residential home in the El Rocío neighborhood, leaving the victims lying in the street and could not be revived by rescuers.<br>The gunmen fled on their bike which they later tried to burn in a nearby pine forest.<br>Among those killed was a 39-year-old woman in her eighth month of pregnancy, her mother-in-law, 62, and a 16-year-old boy. <br>The woman&#8217;s unborn child also did not survive. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Two other people were injured in the attack, with one listed in critical condition.<br>Local media say it was a score-settling between two crime families &#8211; the Baba and Moriña Clans, both major players in the drug trade in the Andalusian region, in southwest Spain.<br>The two women killed reportedly, were the mother and sister of &#8216;El Baba&#8217;, the gang leader being investigated in connection with a fatal shoot-out in in the Torrejón neighborhood of Huelva in September 2024.<br>Since then, the Baba and Moriña families have been involved in several reported episodes of violence, including a previous shooting at the same area in Isla Cristina.<br>The female victims from the weekend shooting are reportedly close relatives of the alleged perpetrator of that killing &#8211; his sister and his mother. <br>The connection between teenage victim has varied with some sources reporting he is the gang leader&#8217;s nephew. <br>Other local reports suggest the 16-year-old had no connection to either of the two women or to the suspected revenge attack, that he simply “happened to be passing by” when the shots were fired. </p>
