<p>A vigilante mob administered brutal justice on a group of six thieves who allegedly robbed a bakery and assaulted the female owner with machetes. The violent incident occurred in Tamulte, in the south-east Mexican state of Tabasco. And according to sources, the enraged mob were only stopped from lynching the robbers by the police, who had to force the groups apart. <p>After hearing about the robbery and the machete attack on Virginia Salvador Valencia, the locals joined forces and apparently managed to catch four of the perpetrators.</p>
<p>And, although two managed to escape, they were later picked up by the authorities.</p>
<p>The mob then viciously beat the alleged thugs and set fire to their escape vehicle. They also allegedly planned to set the men on fire. The men were attended to by paramedics after they were released by police. This story is just one in a series of similar occurrences where fed-up locals decide to take justice into their own hands. Last month, Isaias Perez Olan, also known as &#8216;El Chayo&#8217;, was killed by locals in Villahermosa &#8211; also in the state of Tabasco &#8211; after he allegedly tried to rape a young girl. El Chayo tried to hide in his mother&#8217;s house but angry residents kicked the door down and set the house alight, forcing him out, after which they caught him and killed him with machetes as his mother looked on. Tamulte has the highest indigenous population in the south-east Mexican state of Tabasco</p>
