Another member of rapper Bobby Shmurda’s crew bags 53 year jail sentence

The second Brooklyn gangbanger in Bobby Shmurda’s GS9 crew to be sentenced this week got 53 1/3 years in prison on Friday.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Abraham Clott ripped 22-year-old Alex Crandon who participated in a murder, shootings and other violent ordeals that terrorized East Flatbush over a two year period. Clott, who sentenced Rashid Derissant, 24, to 98 years in prison on Tuesday, dismissed Crandon’s dispassionate pleas for sympathy as he mumbled through a statement.
“Please allow me the opportunity to become a productive citizen and raise my daughter to become one also,” he said.

But the judge told him “he gave up irrevocably the opportunity” to get another shot at a good life.
“The community must be protected given the enormity of the crimes here,” Clott said. Crandon’s desire for a do-over is “really no reason to risk the safety of the public,” the judge added.

in Manhattan Supreme Court. “The residents of East Flatbush should feel safer, because the defendant will no longer be able to terrorize their streets,” Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan said in a statement. Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, will be tried in connection to the same conspiracy in September.
