<div class="ndn_infoPanelOverlay">A ton of emails dumped through WikiLeaks depict the Democratic party of trying to sabotage Bernie Sanders’ candidacy, in the afteramath, the Democratic party just announced that Wasserman Schultz will step down as chair of the DNC at the end of the convention on Thursday. She will be replaced by party stalwart and former Al Gore campaign manager, Donna Brazil.<br />
The emails seemed to show that the Democratic National Committee hierarchy openly mocked and criticized Sen. Bernie Sanders during the primary race against Hillary Clinton. The revelation that raises questions about the Democratic Party’s impartiality and an issue that could play out poorly at the party’s convention this week in Philadelphia.<br />
WikiLeaks posted close to 20,000 emails and 8,000 attachments Friday sent or received by top Democratic officials that seem to suggest the committee’s chairwoman, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla) and other higher ups tried to tip the scales in Secretary Clinton’s favor.</div>

<p>Hours after news emerged that Debbie Wasserman Schultz had been stripped of her speaking privileges at the party&#8217;s convention in Philadelphia this week, Bernie Sanders on Sunday said that the embattled chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee should face an even tougher fate.<br />
&#8220;I think she should resign, period,&#8221; said Sanders to George Stephanopolus on ABC&#8217;s &#8220;This Week.&#8221; &#8220;And I think we need a new chair who is going to lead us in a very different direction.&#8221;<br />
She &#8220;should not be chair of the DNC, and I think these emails reiterate that reason why she should not be chair,&#8221; the Vermont senator added, referring to a massive email leak that painted a picture of bias against the Democratic Party officials<br />
The fallout was that late Saturday night, news emerged that Wasserman Schultz would not preside over or speak at the DNC convention in Philadelphia this week.</p>

Before the leaks, Wasserman Schultz was already the target of intense criticism throughout the Democratic primary process over her decision to limit the number of debates and schedule the few there were, on weekends, and other steps that the campaigns of Martin O&#8217;Malley and Bernie Sanders felt conveyed outright support for candidate Clinton at various points during the primaries, as a matter of fact, former Virginia senator, Jim Webb dropped out of the race early and threatened to run as an independent, frustrated by the antics of the Wasserman Schultz led DNC</p>
