Mariah Carey and billionaire fiancé James Packer call it quits – did they really, ever belong together or is this just another ruse to grab attention for the upcoming E! reality show?
Mariah Carey and billionaire fiancé James Packer call it quits, for now at least
Mariah Carey and fiancé, James Packer, have reportedly called off their engagement
The 49-year-old mega-rich businessman reportedly called it quits with the twice married songstress because of her “extravagant spending” habits, according to Women’s Day.
A month back, Australian site The Fix reported that Carey threw her fiancé, James Packer’s computer through a window and fled screaming after he played Queen Beyonce’s classic “Crazy in Love” to “get her in the mood”.
The report said Carey “Seriously, just trashed it [computer]. She ran out of the room screaming,” an inside source told the outlet. “So the night was obviously finished for James, and they retreated to separate parts of the house. And she had a few glasses of wine to cool down.”
Carey’s camp came out later to completely deny the rumour as falsehood.
Other reports suggest Mariah’s upcoming reality show, “Mariah’s World,” didn’t quite sit right with her Australian beau, who had reservations about the series. Even more wicked is rumours that Packer also was fed up after Carey had some sort of rendezvous with one of the dancers in her Vegas show … something that is on video for the reality show, according to TMZ.
Packer was notable no-show at Carey’s Halloween party over the weekend, where she appeared to be in on amicable footing with her last husband, Nick Cannon. The story line is that Halloween is not Packer’s thing. Anyway, Mariah and Nick shared a family photo with their 5-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
Some twisted minds even suggest a mega-stunt to garner attention for the upcoming reality show set to air on E! entertainment.

The couple first met last June while both vacationing in Portofino, Italy. Both have been married twice before. Carey’s first marriage was to music exec Tommy Mottola. In 2015 her divorce from Nick Cannon became final.
The sometimes rocky relationship between the 46-year-old pop diva and Australian businessman Packer, clicked into high gear in January when he proposed with a huge 35-carat diamond ring, rumoured worth, $7.5 million in front of her closest friends.
Describing the night toE! News back in January, “[It was] very romantic. He’s an exceptional person and really … it gets more romantic by the day, so it’s very sweet,” Carey said about the proposal.

hints from sources connected with Mariah claim James did “something really bad” involving her assistant. Apparently, after the alleged incident Mariah bailed on the vacation, got off the boat and returned to L.A.
