Earlier DC police released this photo of Adrian Duane Johnson who they have charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Tricia McCauley.

A man walking his dog around midnight Tuesday spotted a car similar to the description of McCauley’s two-door Toyota Scion near the 2200 block of M street and called the police, who found McCauley’s body inside.
Chief Newsham told the Tuesday morning news conference that a suspect was arrested shortly after midnight in the 2200 block of M Street NW after a tipster recognized the Macauley’s white two-door Toyota Scion hatchback and called police.
Around 10:50 p.m. on Monday, surveillance video showed the suspect driving McCauley’s car, a white Toyota Scion, from CVS on Rhode Island Ave. That is the same location where police said the suspect committed acts of robbery and assaulted.
Police released the following photo of the suspect. They do not believe McCauley and the suspect knew each other. DC police examine Tricia Macauley's car2.png

Tricia McCauley who starred in several short films and served as a stand-in for Jenna Dewan Tatum in “Step Up,” has been in the District for nearly 30 years. She was a graduate of American University. Her friends and family describe her as a beloved yoga teacher, an actor and herbalist.
“She is one of the kindest and most gentle people that I know,” said Kate Debelack, McCauley’s friend. So to think that someone could have harmed her is awful.

“We do need the public’s help. We have a timeline that we would like the public to pay particular attention to,” Newsham said, listing the sightings of both their suspect and McCauley in the window of time the yoga instructor had been missing.
According to CBS News authorities were pointed in the direction of the suspect because he allegedly, robbed a CVS at some point amidst McCauley’s disappearance and assaulted the employees, prompting law enforcement officials to search for him
An autopsy has not yet been performed, though there is evidence of trauma to McCauley’s body, Newsham said.
