Infante, 22, faces two counts of first-degree murder in the double homicide.
The young father who was scheduled to spend Christma with his son and his ex-girlfriend in her mother’s house in another part of New York, admitted entering the apartment on Christmas night with the intention of murdering his ex-lover, sources said.
He and Barahona were lovers while he was a high school student and she was his teacher. The relationship which began when the teen was 15 but only consummated when Infante turned 17 ended with the woman 14 years his senior, delivering their child in August 2012. At some point teacher who claimed to be deeply in love with her toy boy bought engagement rings as she prepared for their eventual marriage. The live-in bliss lasted only 4 months.

On Monday morning, unresolved issues of 5 years past seemingly came to a boil as Baharona’s body, a telephone cord wrapped around her throat, was found in the living room of her apartment.Isaac Duran Infante was charged a day later in connection with her death.
Ten residents of the building had called 911 about the death smell, sources said. The superintendent at Barahona’s apartment followed the stench seeping from her apartment into the hallway Monday, put down his mop and went out on the fire escape to look inside, the sources said.
He spied Barahona, 36, on the floor and called 911, with cops finding her and then discovering the little boy face down in the bathtub, cops said.

Isaac Duran Infante, of Bethlehem, Pa., left the apartment door unlocked when he left early Monday morning, but he was captured on security video from a neighboring apartment both arriving Sunday night and then departing about three hours later.
He returned home to Bethlehem after the killings.
The suspect turned himself into police after his sister, Elizabeth, showed investigators a photo of Infante in a red hooded sweatshirt, same as he wore Christmas night to the victim’s Upper Manhattan apartment. He reportedly, left the sweatshirt behind after the killings, donning a scarf that was once a gift from ex-girlfriend Barahona.
According to cops, Isaac Infante was angry about paying child support for the boy fathered back when he was a student in Barahona’s science class at DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx.
In essence Infante’s reason for the murder has varied, ranging from his anger over the fact that his son’s mother dressed the boy as a girl to his struggles with meeting his weekly $80 -$100 child support payments. In the last version he claims he was also angry because Barahona fed their child fast food rather than making him meals, and confessed to knocking her to the floor before strangling her with the electrical cord.
The killer explained that Miguel was in the bathroom, when enraged by their argument he attacked Felicia Barahona. He was standing over her lifeless body when the little boy emerged, sources said.
