<article id="ra-body">A New Jersey man accused of fatally stabbing his estranged wife in December was charged with assaulting her mere months before her murder, the issue puzzling officials is how the suspect was let loose on his victim when she had clearly cried out for help.<br />
In April 2016, the suspect Jeremiah Monell allegedly broke into the home of his estranged wife Tara O&#8217;Shea-Watson’s home in Millville new Jersey and stabbed her multiple times in the neck, torso and abdomen.However, according to court records, a Cumberland County Grand Jury in August indicted Monell on fourth-degree criminal contempt, for violating the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act and a second-degree burglary charge. it remains unclear why all of the charges against Monell were dismissed in November, 2016.<br />
After he was identified as a suspect in the stabbing death of his wife, Monell led police on a 2-week manhunt, arrested and held without bail in Cumberland County Jail for the murder of his 35-year-old wife.</article>

Those close to her said she’d been working to escape the domestic violence and move to Tennessee with her children just before she was killed.<br />
&#8220;It was living hell,&#8221; Jen L. Messeck, a friend of O&#8217;shea-Watson, told NJ.com. &#8220;He beat her. She was constantly on the run from him. She wanted nothing more than to get out of here.&#8221;</article>

Monell on Monday appeared in court, where he told officials he intends to represent himself during his criminal proceedings.<br />
He is charged with murder, weapons offenses and violating a restraining order.<br />
Authorities put out a warrant for Monell’s arrest in December and found him two weeks later off Black Horse Pike in Atlantic County. A witness called into State police with a tip about his location that ultimately lead to his arrest.</p>
