Residents reported that a bleeding man was screaming outside their doors about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. Officers located Justin Boyer in front of the house suffering from a stab wound.
Before the incident, Justin Dale Boyer, a resident of St. John, North Dakota, was staying in Las Vegas withe his brother Robert and a roommate. The brothers were allegedly yelling over the playoff game and a roommate tried to intervene. However, Justin Boyer seemingly kept at it when his team, the Cowboys, lost and eventually he physically attacked his sibling.
Metropolitan Police said that Robert Boyer feared for his life and stabbed his brother.
A neighbor, Robert Lewis, reportedly found Justin with stab wounds at his front door.

“I’m passionate. I’m an Eagles fan and I’m passionate about my Eagles but to get to that level over a ballgame is just crazy. Unreal, unbelievable,” Lewis said, according to News3.
Both men were injured in the fight. The stab victim was taken to Spring Valley Hospital and then to University Medical Center (UMC), where he died. Justin Boyer died of a sharp force injury, according to the coroner. The death was ruled a homicide.
The surviving brother, Robert Boyer was also treated at UMC.
However, detectives who interviewed the surviving sibling said he may have acted in self-defense. Police have further noted that Justin Boyer may have suffered from a mental illness.
