<p class="mol-para-with-font">A Long Island farm owner and businessman who is alleged to have repeatedly assaulted his own niece spanning three years, from 2012 to 2014 apeared in Suffolk County Supreme Court, Thurday to defend a civil suit on the matter.<br />
Steven Mezynieski, who was arrested and charged with sexual assault last August, and charged with first-degree rape, a felony, and first-degree criminal sex act, a felony, police said. He has entered a &#8216;strenuous&#8217; not guilty plea to the charges, according to his attorney.<br />
According to a report in <a class="" href="http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/businessman-repeatedly-raped-niece-3-years-lawsuit-article-1.2963067" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">New York Daily News</a>. The teen victim who has filed a civil lawsuit claims her 44-year-old uncle first sexually assaulted her when she was 15 years old on vacation in Punta Gorda in Florida.<br />
She further accused that Mezynieski, who owns Driftwood Farms and the Steven Mezynieski, Inc., excavation firm, of using rope to restrain her in order to perform oral sex on her, without consent.<br />
That particular incident allegedly took place at his $2 million Driftwood Farms property that he purchased with his wife, Gretchen.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">The lawsuit filed on Thursday, alleges that the abuse took place between 2012 and 2014. In the summer of 2014, he allegedly pushed the victim, then 18, onto a<br />
bed and forced her to have intercourse while she tried to fend him off, the court documents say.<br />
In the complaint the plaintif, now aged 20, details incidents when Mezynieski allegedly &#8220;took her on unsolicited shopping sprees and trips to Florida&#8221;, and gave &#8220;her significant amounts of money&#8221; to single her out for special treatment. On those shopping trips he allegedly bought her lingerie, the documents state.<br />
Mezynieski it is alleged, repeatedly performed oral sex on the teen without her consent, abused and raped her. During one alleged incident, the complaint stated: &#8220;As the rape continued, Plaintiff started screaming &#8220;no&#8221; and in response, Defendant Steven M. Mezynieski choked&#8221; the teen.<br />
The complaint also states that Mezynieksi allegedly forced acohol on the and threatened: &#8221; . . .it would hurt her entire family if the truth came out, especially her mother who was worried about the cancer diagnosis of her brother and her.&#8221;<br />
The alleged victim herself was diagnosed with a rare cancer in 2014, the complaint states.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Mezynieksi&#8217;s defense attorney Eddie Burke Jr. countered the prosecution claims: &#8220;These are bizarre and completely unfounded allegations intended to support false claims for money damages and smear my client&#8217;s good name . We will defend this lawsuit vigorously and not be subjected to a financial shakedown.&#8221;<br />
In response to the skepticism proffered by the defense, <a href="http://patch.com/new-york/southampton/southampton-businessman-allegedly-abused-raped-niece-3-years-15-court-docshttp://patch.com/new-york/southampton/southampton-businessman-allegedly-abused-raped-niece-3-years-15-court-docs">Patch.com</a> quotes the girl&#8217;s attorney, Rosemarie Arnold, as saying: &#8216;This man is a sick human being,&#8217; Arnold said. Expressing her disgust, the plaintiff&#8217;s attorney said: &#8220;It&#8217;s a sorry state when a human being is trusted with caring for his niece because her brother has cancer and instead of caring for her, he abuses her. What&#8217;s worse is this man has his own kids. He&#8217;s a child predator. He should be locked up behind bars&#8221;.</p>

He is listed as owning Driftwood Farms in Orient, in Long Island. He also owns Steven Mezynieski Inc., an excavation services company in Southampton, Long Island in New York.<br />
His arrest followed an investigation by the New York State Police Troop L Major Crimes Unit.</p>

She added that the criminal case against Mezynieski is still pending.<br />
If convicted in the criminal lawsuit, Mezynieski faces 25 years in prison.</p>
