Investigators suspect Ashley Mead was killed in Boulder, and then her body was at least partially dismembered near Shreveport, La., according to a Denver 7 report. Authorities fear other parts of Mead’s body could be spread across multiple locations in purple suitcases, just like the one they found containing the 25-year-old’s torso at a Walmart Gas Station on Wednesday.
Adam Densmore, Mead’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her child, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder after he was pulled over for a traffic violation in Pawnee County just a few minutes before the suitcase was found, KOTV reported.

The Oklahoma State Medical examiner has not made an official identification, but police have “tentatively” identified the remains as belonging to the missing woman. Mead and her 1-year-old daughter, Winter, were last seen Sunday. Mother and daughter both were reported missing when the Mead didn’t show up for work Tuesday.
Winter was with her father when he was arrested and placed in the temporary care of Child Protective Services in Oklahoma.
Investigators who are trying to plot Densmore’s travel route between Feb. 12 and 15, believe he left Boulder and traveled South to Raton, New Mexico. They suspect he continued through Texas and arrived in Haughton, La., on the evening of Feb. 1
The next day Densmore likely drove to Conway, Ark., police said , where he spent the night, making his way into Okmulgee on Feb. 15 where he was arrested after troopers learned he was wanted in Colorado for a custody violation.

Police have requested that if anyone should see a suitcase placed in an odd location, that they not touch it and report it to the local police department immediately.
“She was a beautiful, beautiful lady,” was Claudia Bunce’s description of her daughter. “I just really want this to be about her.”
Mead’s mother said she wanted the focus to now be on remembering the life of her daughter.
Reports in the Daily Camera said Mead who was well-known for her big grin and quirky fashion choices, grew up in Pennsylvania before moving to Shreveport to attend Centenary College of Louisiana. She later transferred to LSU-Shreveport. However, piling medical bills in the wake of bad auto accident prevented Mead from completing her studies.
She met U.S. Army veteran, Adam Densmore, while at school in Louisiana and the two began a relationship, which by all accounts was emotionally abusive.

After the pair broke up, Densmore moved to Colorado to attend chef school, and Mead, having just learned she was pregnant, followed him so their child could grow up with a father.
Mead got a job as a preschool teacher’s aide in Colorado and most recently worked as an intern teacher for the head start division of Boulder County Community Services.
“Her bubbly personality and her radiant love for he baby girl and her zany clothing choices are a few of the hallmarks we’ll miss,” her employers wrote in a press release. “We are holding Ashley and her daughter, Winter Daisy, and their entire family in our hearts.”
While Mead had been living with her ex in Boulder, friends say she’d recently began dating a new man, a development they suspect likely made Densmore jealous.
“She told him about it, and he cried and then apologized to her. But then he kept drinking, and he would say ‘I’m drinking because of you. You’ve made me an alcoholic,’” longtime friend Morgan Jeknavorian said.
“I think he just saw that she was so happy, and he was just so miserable. I don’t know. I think that he just snapped.”
