<p class="mol-para-with-font">A Las Vegas resident flouted a home invasion this week, when he broke free of his restraints, got a gun and shot robbers, killing one.<br />
The home invasion happened Monday night on a quiet street in the northwest of the city.<br />
Two men tied the two residents, a man and a woman, up with duct tape in an alleged attempt to steal from them.<br />
But the male resident broke free from his restraints and got a gun, which he used to shoot both of the men. <span class="mol-style-bold"><br />
</span>One of the men was killed at the scene while the other, identified as 21-year-old Arnold Morales, initially escaped. He was later arrested, police said, he drove to the hospital to get treated for a gunshot wound to his buttocks. Investigators said they believe a third suspect could be on the run.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">The female resident of the home was also shot in the arm, but is recovering from her injuries at University Medical Center. It&#8217;s unclear if she was shot on purpose by one of the burglars or on accident by her fellow victim.<br />
Morales was booked at the Clark County Detention Center as soon as he was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.<br />
The suspect who was killed has not yet been identified and police believe a third suspect may be on the run.<br />
Morales Tuesday , was booked into Clark County Detention Center on nine counts, including attempted murder with a deadly weapon, burglary while possessing a gun, first-degree kidnapping with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon and robbery with a deadly weapon.</p>

<div id="share-pictures-3" class="share-pictures-overlay"> Neighbors said they called police after hearing gunshots and screams from the home. the couple&#8217;s next-door neighbor, Matt Ciaglia told <a class="" href="http://fox6now.com/2017/03/15/man-tied-up-during-home-invasion-frees-himself-shoots-2-suspects/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Fox 6 Now</a>: “I definitely heard him yelling something so I called 911 again, they told me the wrong route. Next thing I know there were helicopters and police car,” Ciaglia said.</div>

<p class="imageCaption">Another neighbor, Angela, recalled:“I wasn’t sure what the loud noise was. They were shots, but maybe we thought they were firecrackers because I don’t know what a gunshot is supposed to sound like but it didn’t immediately seem like that.<br />
“The girl was screaming really loud and that was what was so scary, like a horror movie kind of screaming.”</p>

<p>Some were asking themselves if they would have done the same thing. Tom Shiloh says, “I would’ve shot him a couple more times to make sure he was dead, absolutely, there’s no cause, no reason to be that way, to steal, to rob.”<br />
Others are now considering taking precautions to protect themselves. Lisa Warren told Fox 6 Now: “I wish I still own a gun. I used to, I wish I still did.”<br />
Nevada does have a <a href="http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/crime-courts/nevadas-stand-your-ground-law-goes-back-140-years" target="_blank">&#8220;stand your ground&#8221; law</a> but sometimes the victim is not immune from prosecution. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “In Clark County, prosecutors have been willing to charge people in situations where deadly force could have been avoided. In self-defense cases, there has to be an immediate threat to the person’s life.”</p>
