Police in Texas say that a homeowner shot and killed a 27-year-old in an armed home invasion as he and two others held his two young children at gunpoint.
Port Arthur Police identified the deceased suspect as Terence Ellies.
According to the police, the owner of the home – located on the 2500 block of 18th Street – fatally gunned down the suspect after he barged into the home with two other armed suspects, KBTV reported.

The homeowner, an unidentified 29-year-old man, armed himself with a rifle and fired several shots to keep his family safe. Ellies died at the scene, according to the police report.
The other two suspects escape and remain at large with a manhunt launched by police seeks to capture the fugitive duo.
The residents of the home were not injured in the attempted robbery.


Police were called to the scene at around 8.30pm Sunday to a home invasion type robbery with the shooting called.

The commotion alerted a male resident who armed himself with a rifle and confronted the would-be robbers in protection of his young children who were home during the robbery.
One of the robbers was shot and killed during the encounter.
The incident in currently under investigation by the Port Arthur Police Departments Major Crime Team.
