Kansas woman, Rachael Hilyard, arrested for decapitating ex-boyfriend’s 63-year-old mother

Davis, and her 9-year-old grandson, went to Hilyard’s home in West Rita, Kansas City to pick up items belonging to her son, Jacob Gillespie III
Shortly after, Davis’ 9-year-old grandson called cops to report that she was being assaulted

A short time later, the 35-year-old suspect allegedly began assaulting her elderly guest.
The little boy managed to get away with his grandmother’s cell phone and call for help. When police arrived, the boy directed them to the house.

It’s not clear if the two women got into an argument, but officers said shortly after Davis and her grandson arrived Hilyard started attacking her ex’s mother.
Authorities said the child was able to get his grandmother’s cell phone from her truck and then ran away from the home and called police for help.|
When cops arrived, the boy directed officers to the home but no one answered the door.

Police then went through to the garage where they discovered the decapitated victim. Police eventually found the suspect hiding inside her home.
She was arrested and taken to Sedgwick County Jail. Hilyard, faces first-degree murder charges.
“She’s going to be incarcerated for the rest of her days,” Davis’ nephew Casey Wallace told ABC Kansas. “I hope she sits in that jail and thinks about that. Hope it eats her alive. And I hope Micki’s at peace.”
Records show Hilyard’s priors includes a conviction on four counts of drug possession leading to incarceration in Sedgwick County from 2013 through 2015.
Jacob Davis III, himself a career criminal, is currently being held in the Sedgwick County Jail being held for theft related offenses, following a police chase and crash of a stolen truck late last month.
