The body of missing 3-year-old Mariah Woods was found Saturday, after authorities in North Carolina arrested the girl’s mother’s live-in boyfriend and charged him with concealing death and other offenses.
The search party found the little girl’s body around 5:30 p.m. in waters in a remote part of Pender County, WCTI reported. Officials said a dive team member found the body of missing three-year-old Mariah Woods around. at the bottom of a remote creek 25 miles from her home – hours after her mother’s boyfriend was charged with ‘concealing her death
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI detained 32-year-old Earl Kimery Friday in connection with the disappearance of the toddler.
According to a WRAL report, Kimrey is accused of “removing Mariah Woods’ body from the scene of her death” and concealing “Mariah Woods’ death and body, knowing that Mariah died from unnatural causes. The defendant acted with deceit and intent to fraud,” Kimery’s arrest warrant states.
The Sheriff’s office said in a statement Saturday morning that collected evidence suggested Mariah was dead. “At this time, the location of Mariah is unknown,” the statement said. “The searches now will shift to a recovery process.”

Authorities in Onslow County issued an Amber Alert for Mariah on Monday, the same day her mother, Kristy Woods, 29, reported her missing. The distraught mother-of-three told authorities she put her daughter to bed Sunday evening and woke up to find her gone.
Mariah’s disappearance sparked a massive search effort, with investigators and volunteers from the community coming together to search for the missing toddler.
Sheriff Hans Miller said during a press conference Friday that he had “a long conversation” with one of Mariah’s family members and that “they are cooperating.”
Investigators on Friday were seen searching for the toddler near the Southwest Creek Bridge on U.S. 17 in Jacksonville, N.C.
In an earlier warrant Kimrey had been charged with larceny, breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods. The warrant accuses him of breaking into a home on High Hill Road in Jacksonville sometime after 11 p.m. on Sunday and 3:30 a.m. on Monday and taking two dressers.
Kimery was also charged with obstruction of justice, second-degree burglary, larceny and possession of stolen property.

Mariah’s mother is divorced from her dad, Alex Woods with whom he shares two sons as well. Woods said that while his daughter is with her mother his weeks are “like hell, like a nightmare.”
“Somebody just walks right in there, grabs a 3-year-old out of the bed, she didn’t cry, she didn’t scream?” he told WTVR ahead of Kimery’s arrest. “Nobody heard nothing? Four people in the house, two adults and two babies and somebody just comes, snatches the baby.
On Friday agents were seen searching the trailer where the toddler lived with her mother Kristy, her older brothers and her alleged killer, Earl Kimrey. The suspect who is accused of stealing two dressers after breaking into a home in Jacksonville between 11pm on Sunday and 3.30am on Monday, reportedly has a long criminal history which includes arrests for larceny, assault, threats to government and being drunk and disorderly, since his early teens.
Kimrey is being held in the Onslow County Detention Center in lieu of a $1,010,000 bond.
