<div id="articleIconLinksContainer">British glamour model Chloe Ayling was not part of a &#8216;publicity stunt&#8217; plot to kidnap herself to make her famous, a court in Italy ruled today.</div>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Lukasz Herba, who is accused of abducting Miss Ayling said her whole ordeal and the demand for a £264,000 ransom was staged to raise her profile.<br />
The court in Milan dismissed the claims by Herba&#8217;s attorney Katia Kolakowska.<br />
A judge at the Corte d’Assises in Milan also rejected an application by Ms Kolakowska to Mandate Ayling to travel to Italy to testify in the trial.<br />
The case until February 8. Herba&#8217;s brother Michal, 36, from Birmingham is facing extradition to Italy to face trial.<br />

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Michal is currently fighting extradition from the UK and a British judge has previously said he should fly to Italy to join his sibling to face the allegations.<br />
Lukasz, a Polish resident, had claimed that they &#8216;planned&#8217; the kidnapping plot when they met in Paris and that she did it to become a celebrity.<br />

Ms Kolakowska said before today&#8217;s hearing: &#8216;He says the kidnap was a fabrication. They planned it together so she would become famous.&#8217;<br />
She also said that there was evidence they had an &#8216;existing relationship&#8217;.<br />
Miss Ayling said she was sedated and bundled into the boot of a car after being tricked into attending a bogus photoshoot on July 11, then held captive in a remote farmhouse in Turin.<br />
But Lukasz said he did not knowingly take part in any crime.</p>

&#8216;Herba&#8217;s lawyer is in cloud cuckcoo land if he thinks he is going to successfully defend his client by suggesting it was staged.&#8217;<br />
Herba&#8217;s solicitor reportedly asked for the trial to be adjourned until his brother, Michal, is able to defend himself alongside his sibling.</p>

<p>Police say Polish-born Herba and his brother Michal, 36, lured Chloe to a fake modelling job before giving her ketamine and bundling her into a car.<br />
Lukasz was arrested after delivering Ms Ayling to the British Embassy on July 17 – six days after she was allegedly kidnapped.<br />
Michal was arrested by the UK National Crime Agency on a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Italian authorities in August 2017. Michal Herba since has been fighting extradition to Italy to face trial with brother Lukasz in the kidnap of British model, Ayling</p>
