<p class="mol-para-with-font">The evil scheme was so dastardly that Flagler County, Sheriff Rick Staly. was quoted as saying &#8216;This is one of the most bizarre domestic violence cases I have seen in my career,&#8217; said Flagler.<br />
The Palm Coast man rigged the front door of his home with wiring attached to a car battery charger in an attempt to electrocute his pregnant wife, Flagler County Sheriff’s investigators said.<br />
&#8216;Not only did this man plan to electrocute his wife, but he could have injured a deputy or any person attempting to enter this residence. Thankfully this man was found and taken into custody before he could cause the harm he intended,&#8217; Sheriff Staly said.<br />
The device, which could have easily led to his wife&#8217;s death, was to have her insert the house key and then grab the handle, completing the circuit and sending a jolt of electricity through her arm, chest and heart.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Fortunately for target, who was in Knoxville, Tennessee with family at the time, she never took a hold of that door knob. Her stepfather, Jon Flositz, became suspicious after she told him Wilson had warned her not to let a child touch it.<br />
Flositz went to examine the house with his wife, Alissa, and they found the word “Hi” and a drawing of two eyes in what appeared to be lipstick on the back sliding door, according to the deputy’s report.<br />
Wilson was arrested Thursday in Knoxville, Tennessee, and charged with attempted aggravated battery on a pregnant woman and grand theft of a firearm.<br />
Police said he rigged electrical devices to the top door lock and lower door handle so it would electrocute whoever tried to unlock and open the front door.<br />
The rigging consisted of two chairs, a child’s high chair, blue tape, a shower-type rod, electrical cords, wiring and a car battery charger with clamps, according to the <a class="" href="http://www.news-journalonline.com/news/20171229/palm-coast-man-rigs-door-to-electrocute-pregnant-wife-deputies-say" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Daytona Beach News Journal</a>.<br />
It could have caused serious bodily injury or even death.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Wilson had also stolen a firearm belonging to his wife’s father from the house.<br />
He&#8217;s being held on a $150,000 bond and will be extradited to Florida. It&#8217;s unclear if he has an attorney.<br />
The woman&#8217;s father called deputies after Wilson made suspicious statements about keeping children away from the door.<br />
Deputies found the front door barricaded, with burn marks. When a deputy kicked the door, a large spark was observed.<br />
Wilson had changed his Facebook relationship status to &#8216;widowed&#8217;.<br />
Deputies also found pictures of a sonogram on the kitchen table, sticky-note love letters in the bedroom with a photo album showing Wilson and his wife together, and the wife’s recently-installed smart cameras dumped in the toilet.</p>

<p>The intended target of the murder scheme told detectives in an interview that a few months ago her husband fell but he refused to seek medical treatment: “Up until that point, [Wilson] seemed to be a normal person,” she told the detectives.<br />
Acting out, he was later hospitalized in November, under Florida’s Baker Act — which allows for someone to be involuntarily taken into custody for mental evaluation.<br />
While he was in treatment she obtained a revolver from her stepfather, which she hid in a kitchen cabinet, and installed two smart cameras that sent video feeds to her phone.<br />
Wilson she said, eventually apologized for his behavior and she asked him to join her in Knoxville where she was spending the holiday with her family and her children. He arrived there on December 21.<br />
The next evening, however, he suddenly got up while they were watching television around midnight and left. In the morning he began sending text messages, insisting that she was cheating on him.<br />
She grew suspicious after receiving an alert on her phone indicating that the smart cameras in their Palm Coast home were disconnected. Coupled with comments that made her believe that he had visited the home during his absence, including inquiring about the location of the firearm and cameras, and advising her “to use the front door of the home because the garage door isn’t going to open.”<br />
She told her stepfather about the comments and he checked the home before she returned to Florida, and called authorities<br />
Wilson was arrested Thursday in Knoxville on bond while awaiting extradition to Florida.<br />
A Facebook page belonging to Wilson shows him gripping two handguns, and he boasts that he “is the guy that your father warned you about.” It also lists him as “widowed.</p>
