The deputy principal used knives, a hatchet and his bare hands to slay his family at their home near Co Cavan, in Ireland, before he took his own life on August 29 last year.
His inquest earlier this month heard he was “stressed” about losing his status as a respected pillar of the community. However investigators uncovered that it was his secret porn shame that he believed ruined his local reputation, and led to his meltdown.
The deputy head teacher and father-of-three had been caught accessing porn on his laptop in school.

The Coll family said after the verdict of unlawful killings and suicide that they were disappointed the inquest didn’t address why a father and husband turned into a monster and wiped out his family.
The grieving family said: “We are aware that he was concerned at his eminent fall from that position and the breakdown of his marriage.”
Hawe it was revealed, had a long-standing porn addiction which affected both his work and marriage, and the educator feared the dark secret coming out.
He had previously accessed sexually explicit material which created domestic rift in the home between him and wife Clodagh.

In the lead up to the quadruple-murder suicide of his family, Hawe’s porn addiction had spiraled out of control. He was caught “resuming” his porn use, even in a school setting.
A source said: “It had caused difficulties within the marriage and then he had resumed it again.”
Another said: “He had been found out.”
