<p>A Mexican rapper and YouTube star confessed this week to dissolving the bodies of three missing film students in acid — at the behest of a drug cartel, according to new reports.<br />
Christian Omar Palma Gutierrez, has been detained over the deaths of Salomon Aceves Gastelum, 25, Daniel Diaz, 20, and Marco Avalos, 20, in western Jalisco state last month.<br />
Guitierrez better known as “QBA,” confessed to state prosecutors that he disposed of the bodies after the three victims were kidnapped, tortured and murdered.<br />
The suspect claimed a friend recruited him three months prior to work for the Jalisco New Generation drug cartel, and that he had received 3,000 pesos or nearly $159 reportedtedly, per a week.<br />
“He has participated in three other previous murders,” chief investigator Lizette Torres told the outlet.</p>

<p>Gutierrez’s YouTube channel boasts more than 125,000 subscribers. Many of his music videos portray vivid imagery of street life in Mexico, with gritty detail &#8211; images of poor neighborhoods, drugs and weapons. Others feature the rapper and his friends showing off luxury vehicles and motorcycles. Chained dogs and flashing knives, drug paraphernalia and boasts of violence.<br />
QBA in his videos would be rapping against a backdrop of a posse of unsmiling men, their shirts off, tattooed, flashing hand signals and glaring &#8211; &#8220;los casi muertos&#8221; he said, pointing at them with his thumbs: the nearly dead.<br />
&#8220;This is my hell,&#8221; he rapped.<br />
Now, authorities are investigating the videos for further clues into the murders.<br />
The students, who were enrolled at the University of Audiovisual Media in Guadalajara, were last seen alive on March 19.<br />

<p>Although the home belonged to one of the students’ aunts, hit men from the Jalisco New Generation cartel were watching the house after a Nueva Plaza honcho’s release from prison, investigators said.<br />
But they mistook the students for members of the rival drug gang, with whom they were embroiled in a turf war, and abducted them on a road near the house while dressed as police officers, prosecutors said.<br />
While interrogating the students at a safe house the abductors beat one of them so badly, he died, prompting them to kill the other two, police said. The bodies were then moved to another home and dumped in sulfuric acid to hide evidence.<br />
Mexican police found traces of the students’ blood and DNA at the houses along with 46 barrels of sulfuric acid. Investigators also found fake detectives’ credentials at the cartel houses.<br />
Gutierrez, along with a second suspect who has also been detained, will be charged with aggravated kidnapping, while five more suspects in the murders remain at large.</p>
