hit men from the Jalisco New Generation cartel were watching the house after a Nueva Plaza honcho’s release from prison&comma; investigators said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;But they mistook the students for members of the rival drug gang&comma; with whom they were embroiled in a turf war&comma; and abducted them on a road near the house while dressed as police officers&comma; prosecutors said&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;While interrogating the students at a safe house the abductors beat one of them so badly&comma; he died&comma; prompting them to kill the other two&comma; police said&period; The bodies were then moved to another home and dumped in sulfuric acid to hide evidence&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Mexican police found traces of the students’ blood and DNA at the houses along with 46 barrels of sulfuric acid&period; Investigators also found fake detectives’ credentials at the cartel houses&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Gutierrez&comma; along with a second suspect who has also been detained&comma; will be charged with aggravated kidnapping&comma; while five more suspects in the murders remain at large&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<&sol;div>&NewLine;
