<p>Krista Glover was arrested Saturday on battery charges at a home the couple rented in Ponte Vedra, Florida, not far from the competition at Sawgrass TPC.</p>

At Sawgrass TPC, Glover started the tournament well on Thursday, finishing just two strokes behind the leaders.</p>

<p>He started losing ground Friday and Saturday and did not play on Sunday. He was listed on the final leaderboard as &#8216;MDF,&#8217; meaning he made the cuts but didn&#8217;t finish.<br />
Saturday night, however, Lucas allegedly told deputies he was tired of all the altercations with his wife and couldn&#8217;t take it anymore. At the same time, he tried to dissuade deputies from arresting Krista and claimed there was no physical altercation.<br />
The 38-year-old golfer, best known for his 2009 win at the U.S. Open and the 2011 Wells Fargo Open, did tell authorities that his wife had been drinking all day.<br />
Deputies noted in their reports there were fresh lacerations to Lucas&#8217; right arm and &#8216;multiple lacerations&#8217; to both his 62-year-old mother Hershey Glover&#8217;s arms as well as blood on her clothes. The deputies photographed the injuries.</p>

According to the police report, someone in the house called 911 to report &#8216;a disturbance&#8217; shortly before 8.30pm<br />
When deputies arrived, they allegedly found Krista and Lucas arguing on the porch.<br />
Krista walked up to them and claimed she was attacked by her mother-in-law during an argument with her husband.<br />
The 36-year-old is accused of causing bodily harm when she “forcefully attacked” the 2009 US Open winner and her mother-in-law in front of their two kids, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.<br />
When officers arrived at the scene, Lucas told them that, according to authorities, “when he plays a bad round of golf, Krista proceeds to start an altercation with him and telling him how he is a loser and a p—y.”<br />
He said she then continued berating him about “how he needs to fire everyone, and how he’d better win or her and the kids would leave him and he would never see the kids again,” according to the police report.</p>

<p>Glover made the initial cut in the prestigious tournament, but a 78 in Saturday’s third round made him a 54-hole victim.<br />
The 38-year-old golfer, however, tried to convince officers not to take his wife to the slammer, according to the Daily Mail. Despite his pleas, deputies arrested Krista because the golfer and his mother suffered visible lacerations.<br />

“Regrettably, although Krista was charged, we are comfortable that the judicial system is able to address what actually happened and Krista will be cleared in this private matter,” he wrote on Twitter.<br />
“We thank you for respecting our privacy as we work through this situation.”<br />
When deputies handcuffed her, she became physically aggressive and tried to escape the arresting officer, <a href="https://www.actionnewsjax.com/news/local/pga-tour-golfers-wife-arrested-in-ponte-vedra-for-domestic-violence/749796520">news station WJAX reported</a>.<br />
She then put up a struggle as officers attempted to place her in the patrol car, wrapping her legs around the door and frame, according to the police report. Once inside the vehicle, she started screaming and kicking the door.<br />
“Wait till the tour hears about this,” Krista reportedly said. “You will lose your job. This is why cops get shot in the face. Wait till I talk with the judge, you will be f–king fired over this.”<br />
The golf pro’s wife was booked at St. Johns County Jail, where she was released Sunday on $2,500 bond. She also faces charges for resisting arrest.</p>
