Three children and two adult males died and one adult female was injured in a suspected quintuple murder-suicide at a home in a rural town north of Fort Worth, Texas.
The shooting occurred Wednesday morning in North Texas at the home in Ponder, about 30 miles north of Fort Worth.
According to Sheriff’s Capt. Orlando Hinojosa, spokesman for the Denton County Sheriff’s Office, the home owner’s her ex-husband came to her home early Wednesday and opened fire, injuring her, killing their three children and her boyfriend before turning the gun on himself at a home in the 600 block of Lonestar Park Lane in Ponder.
The deceased shooter has been identified as Justin Painter of Fort Worth, according to Tarrant County Medical Examiner spokesman Troy Taylor.

Painter, 39, went inside a home in the 600 block of Lonestar Park Lane on Wednesday morning and shot his ex-wife Amanda Lee Simpson and her current boyfriend, 29-year-old Seth Richardson
He then shot their daughter, Caydence Nicole Painter, and two sons, Drake Alexander Painter and Odin Tyler Painter before turning the gun on himself, Capt. Hinojosa said.
The boyfriend Richardson, is from Lancaster, South Carolina.
Amanda Simpson, who suffered at least one gunshot wound, was still alive Wednesday afternoon at Medical City Denton, authorities said
The couple was married in 2012, records located by the paper show and local media reported they couple’s divorce was final in March, 2018
Firefighters initially responded to the home at 8:28 a.m. to treat someone with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a Ponder Fire Department news release.
The Sheriff’s Office received the call at the same time as a burglary in progress, Hinojosa said.
One nearby resident, Mary Jean Dennis, said she saw a man with three children walking toward the house during her morning walk before the shooting on Wednesday morning.
She walked past the home about eight minutes before police were called, she said. She said the children appeared to be 3 to 6 years old.

The Ponder Volunteer Fire Department said they were called to a home in the 600 block of Lone Star Park Lane at around 8.30am for a report of a person suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, reported NBC DFW.

Simpson survived the shooting posted a public Facebook video showing her sobbing from her hospital bed as she holds a photo of her three young children and talks about her troubled relationship with her ex-husband.
She had been shot in the shoulder, that the bullet lodged there, and that she may have to have surgery, Simpson said
“I’ve relived it over and over, and every time I close my eyes, I see my babies,” she said, noting early in the video that she was under sedation. “I see them dead.”
In the video, she expressed anger toward the judge who handled her divorce case, saying that her ex-husband had tried to commit suicide and that her warnings to the judge that she considered him mentally unstable had gone unheeded.
Tearful throughout the video, she said she hoped her children “knew that I loved them.”
“You never think you’ll lose a child, and I always watch the news,” she said. “And I just stopped watching it because too many children get killed.
“I just don’t know what to do.”
Five victims were pronounced dead at the scene and Simpson was transported to Medical City Denton for treatment. Two dogs were removed from the residence and are being cared for by a neighbor.
Capt Hinojosa said at a press briefing that the agency is not actively looking for a shooter.
