Thomas Gledhill, 71, and Rosalie Christianson Gledhill, 67, have been charged with obstruction of justice for helping their daughter clean her home after she allegedly killed her husbandÂ
The parents of a 41-yer-old Utah mother of three accused of murdering her husband after confessing an affair have been arrested on charges they helped her clean the crime scene.
Prosecutors allege Jennifer Gledhill’s parents helped their daughter clean her $1 million home after she shot her husband Matthew Johnson dead as he slept.
Thomas Ray Gledhill, 71, and Rosalie Christianson Gledhill, 67, were arrested on Thursday and are facing four counts of obstruction of justice – capital/first-degree felony conduct.
Police say witnesses saw the parents cleaning Jennifer’s house for five hours, with Rosalie suspected of buying a new mattress for her daughter, as reported by ABC4.
A new mattress reportedly, was ordered on Sept. 24, days after Johnson was reported missing, police said.

Jennifer Gledhill is yet to confess to killing her husband Matthew Johnson, with whom she shares three young children. Johnson was reported missing late last month
Detectives believe Johnson was killed on the old mattress, which subsequently disappeared and has not been found. Blood stains were reportedly found underneath Jennifer’s bed when a search warrant was executed on September 28.Â

Earlier this month, both of Jennifer Gledhill’s parents were questioned by police. When asked if they were at Jennifer’s home, they told police that they were there, but denied helping the suspect clean her home. Police say witnesses observed the parents cleaning and stated the parents were there for over five hours.
Thomas and Rosalie’s cellphones were reportedly reset before they were seized by police.
They are facing four counts of obstruction of justice, which is a second-degree felony.
Police allege Jennifer shot her National Guardsman husband Matthew Johnson in the head last month as he slept at their spacious property in Cottonwood.
Johnson was reported missing on September 23, by his Utah National Guards unit. Jennifer arrested on October 3, after her unnamed lover told police that she’d told him about killing her husband.
Interviewed by police, Jennifer claimed to have separated from Johnson – only to spend the evening of September 20 talking and drinking liquor with him, according to the arrest warrant.
She told officers that they then had intercourse that night, and ‘due to the intoxication from the whiskey she had a hard time recalling the events that took place after her and Matthew had sex’.

Jennifer said Johnson ‘became upset’ during their evening together, but could not recall why.
But she went on to offer conflicting excuses for bruises found on her body, it is claimed. Jennifer told cops Johnson ‘struck her several times’ with a closed fist, leaving her bruised on her arms, hands, face and legs.
Her secret lover, whose name has not been released, says Jennifer told him she got the bruises ‘from moving Matthew’s body and cleaning the mess in the house.’
The man contacted police after Gledhill allegedly confessed to the murder, which led to her arrest.
Asked by one cop why she did not report her husband’s alleged domestic excuse, Jennifer claimed to have ‘made a deal’ with him.
She is said to have had a ‘long history of calling the police on Matthew for non criminal altercations.’

Jennifer told cops that they’d agreed he’d return to work at Camp Williams State Military Reservation the night after they had sex. She also told police that the first she knew of her husband’s disappearance was a message from his co-workers saying he hadn’t made it into work.
However her account was contradicted when her lover contacted authorities with an alternative version of events.
Newly released court documents claim Gledhill told the whistle blower that she shot Johnson in the head as he slept in the master bedroom. That she put his body in an attic store container, before sliding it down the stairs and into the back of her minivan.
Gledhill allegedly told her lover she then buried Johnson before removing and destroying items in the house in an attempt to cover up the crime. She had smashed Johnson’s phone and driven his truck to another area of their estate before driving his body north and burning him in a shallow grave at an undisclosed location.
However police admitted, they are yet to receive a direct confession from the suspect, as officers work on locating Johnson’s grave.
For their part, Jennifer’s parents previously had claimed in a media interview that they were struggling to break the tragic news to the couple’s three children that their mother killed their father.
