<div class="wp-caption-text featured">A 48-year-old man from Michigan who kept his girlfriend imprisoned in a Lansing hotel room. where he forced her to have sex with his friends, has been sentenced to at least quarter century in prison.<br />
Alphonso Russell, told his girlfriend that his violent landlord made him fear for her safety at his Holt residence, so the couple stayed at a hotel in Lansing for a month, the woman testified during Russell’s preliminary hearing, <a href="https://www.lansingstatejournal.com/story/news/local/2018/07/30/holt-man-forced-girlfriend-stay-naked-have-sex-his-friends/849081002/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to the Lansing State Journal</a>.<br />
The pair initially had consensual sex there as part of their “magical” relationship, but the fairy-tale connection soon soured, the woman told investigators.<br />
The woman said that Russell started controlling her every move, holding her captive in the hotel room, where he rarely let her leave aside from making beer or food runs for him — or to check on her aunt and uncle, who were also staying at the hotel.<br />
She said Russell’s friends would even make unannounced visits to the hotel to make sure she was still there. Her nightmare worsened when Russell started bringing back friends to the hotel after he finished work, forcing her on three or four occasions to have sex with them, she testified.<br />
“Make Daddy proud, baby,” Russell told her as she begged for the men to stop, she testified. “Make Daddy proud.”<br />
Russell also forced the woman into rough, non-consensual sex acts, including making her perform oral sex while sitting at his feet.<br />
“Now you know where a woman’s place is,” Russell told her, she testified, adding that she also choked so violently that she lost consciousness several times.<br />
She was scared to tell police, friends or family about the abuse, she said. At times she would wake up to him having rough sex with her.<br />
“The only way that I could see it end is that I was going to be a full pledged [sic] prostitute or I would’ve been left in a body bag,” she testified.<br />
When the woman told Russell she didn’t want to have sex, he simply replied, “Too bad,” she testified.<br />
Three other women, including two of Russell’s ex-wives, were called as witnesses by prosecutors. They testified that Russell, who has two previous domestic violence convictions, repeatedly raped and strangled them during their relationships, the Lansing State Journal reported.<br />
Russell, who was convicted in April of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, unlawful imprisonment, domestic violence and assault by strangulation, was sentenced Friday. He’s now in custody at a prison in Michigan, where he’ll spend at least two weeks being evaluated before being transferred to another state prison.</div>
