The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office tweeted: ‘Mass shooting at the Jacksonville Landing. Stay far away from the area. The area is not safe at this time. STAY AWAY #TheLandingMassShooting.
‘We are finding many people hiding in locked areas at The Landing. We ask you to stay calm, stay where you are hiding. SWAT is doing a methodical search inside The Landing. We will get to you. Please don’t come running out.
A livestream of the gaming tournament captured the moment the gunfire broke out as two young men were playing in the championship series.
The commentators could be heard going silent as the first gunshots were fired and people began screaming. The stream then cut out and a message appeared saying ‘controller disconnected’.
Jackson Sheriff’s office released an update on of the day’s shooting on social media
According to the Jacksonville sheriff’s office said there is only one suspect in today’s shooting at Jacksonville Landing, and he is dead, officials said.
“We have no outstanding suspects at this time. No outstanding suspects,” Sheriff Mike Williams said at a news conference. “We have one suspect in this case. He is deceased at the scene.”
Williams described the suspect as a white man, but he did not identify him.

One of the gamers, Drini Gjoka, was injured in the melee and made it known on social media
‘The tourney just got shot up. I’m leaving and never coming back. I am literally so lucky. The bullet hit my thumb. Worst day of my life,’ he tweeted.
‘I will never take anything for granted ever again. Life can be cut short in a second.’
Multiple emergency crews were spotted on the scene and authorities said several victims had been transported to hospital.
The Jacksonville Landing is an entertainment complex along the St Johns River, which includes restaurants and an indoor shopping mall.
