A pediatric nurse who was charged with stealing a boxer’s bag stuffed with $140,000 in jewels during a brawl at Jay Z’s 40/40 club has been cleared of the theft, prosecutors said Thursday.
Sarah Morin, 40, had faced grand larceny and possession of stolen property raps for the alleged theft of pugilist Jermall Charlo’s sack of valuables.
But assistant district attorney Maria Luna said Thursday that an investigation cleared her of criminal charges and that there was no evidence she pilfered the goods.
“After reviewing video from the club and interviewing witnesses and meeting with the defendant, it is undisputed that the defendant was given the bag to watch temporarily by an associate of the complaining witness,” Luna said in Manhattan Criminal Court.
She added that Morin had tried to return the blue Louis Vuitton bag stuffed with medallions, chains and a diamond-encrusted boxing glove charm, before cops contacted
her.

But prosecutors stopped short of asking the judge to dismiss the case outright.
The felony charges were dropped in exchange for the Connecticut woman pleading to a disorderly conduct violation, which is not categorized as a crime. The violation will be sealed in one year.
“My name has been slandered,” said Morin, who sobbed when she left the courtroom. “This has been life-changing, life-altering.”
The nurse, who works with cancer-stricken children, said that the allegations cost her one of her jobs.

The trouble started March 3 when Morin and her gal pals were partying at the 40/40 club, and the light middleweight got into a fight with another patron.
His bodyguard handed her the bag and told her to run, according to her lawyer, Gerard Marrone.
Even though the nurse tried to return the bag hours later, she was arrested.
According reports at the time, Morin allegedly ran off with a pro boxer’s cash-filled bag at Jay Z’s 40/40 nightclub over that weekend night. Two days later Sarah Morin,  turned herself into police after footage of she and four pals allegedly leaving the club with fighter Jermall Charlo’s bag went viral.

The bag contained $40,000 in cash and $115,000 worth of jewelry, according to police.
Morin allegedly returned the jewelry, but no cash, cops said.
The police report says the bag also contained $40,000 in cash, while the criminal complaint puts the cash at $25,000.
Morin’s lawyer, Gerard Marrone claims there was no money in there at all.
“Who goes out with $125,000 worth of family jewels to a nightclub? It’s ridiculous. Get a safe,” he said.
Cops at the time however, insisted they were still looking for the money.
“We recovered the jewelry and the whereabouts of the $40,000 remains under investigation,” a police spokesman said after Morin returned the bag.
The five women were partying at the Flatiron hotspot with the Texan boxer when Charlo got into an altercation with someone.
Charlo’s assistant handed the bag to Morin, and she and her gal pals then hightailed it out of the club with the loot while the pugilist was distracted, the sources said.At the time.
But Charlo, who boasts a 26-0 record, has called the whole story “fake news.”

“Fake News YEA F–KING RIGHT,” he tweeted a day after the alleged theft, alongside a link to a news report.
