A white Florida transient was detained after he was filmed brutally attacking a black female fast food employee on New Year’s Eve who bravely fought back.
Daniel Taylor, 40, was charged with two counts of simple battery for the wild altercation that took place at the McDonald’s in St. Petersburg on Monday.
In the shocking video, that has since gone viral, Taylor lunges at the black woman and drags her nearly across the counter.
People in the background can be heard asking for the police as the woman pummels the man and demands that he ‘stops playing with her.’A coworker appears to try to pull the woman off the man but her grip was tight and lethal. He rushed over to Taylor and managed to separate the two.
The irate employee also screamed obscenities at her assailant.

Taylor – who is between 5’7″ and 5″8 and approximately 160lbs – is being held on a $1000 bond and was also found to have owed a $11 commissary charge, jail records indicate.The West Virginia native was instructed to stay away from the victim and the eatery.
On Facebook, a woman who identified herself as Doraetta Hesse, believed to be his mother posted on Tuesday that her son had been ‘homeless for sometime’ and ‘hasn’t been able to find a job.’
But according Hesse, her son wasn’t exactly forthcoming as to the most recent altercation he had been involved in.
Taylor who is a West Virginia native, living in Clearwater, Fla., as a transient was instructed to stay away from the victim and the restaurant
‘My problem is he called me last night about 6:30 pm,’ she explained. ‘He had been beaten and robbed. He told me he was going to call 911. To get an Ambulance and the police. He told me he would call me back from the ER.’
Hesse shared that she called the state police but added that since her son didn’t have an address in the area, they couldn’t do much to help her.
McDonald’s could not be reached for a comment.

Taylor, who turned 40 on December 30, a day before the attack, reportedly is living as a transient in the Clearwater, Florida, area.
Court records state that Taylor is “provisional for extradition,” which may mean he has warrants in another state. His middle name is Willis and jail records state he was born in West Virginia.
Taylor, who pled not guilty in a hearing on the day of his arrest, has been ordered by a court to stay away from that McDonald’s and the victim
