Parker, who is an eighth-grade reading teacher at Mexia Junior High, was placed on administrative leave immediately after her arrest
‘She was online talking to multiple guys in Morocco trying to get it setup where she could take her with her over there to them,’ Freestone County Sheriff J. Shipley told KBTX.
Detectives have since obtained search warrants for Parker’s electronic devices.
McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara, who helped with the investigation, said it was ‘sickening’ to think Parker would stoop that low.
‘It’s a very low-down thing,’ he said.
‘It’s the worst of the worst when you prostitute your own relative, that’s as low as you get.’
The Mexia Independent School District placed Parker on administrative leave immediately after learning about the allegations.
‘Student safety is Mexia ISD’s No. 1 priority,’ Mexia ISD Superintendent Lyle DuBus said.
‘We take these allegations seriously and we will be working closely with our partners in law enforcement. The district continues to monitor the situation and feels no students at Mexia Junior High were ever at risk.’
Amber Parker remained in the Freestone County Jail Wednesday night in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
