American man ‘stabs his Japanese wife to death outside Tokyo divorce court’ before hearing

An American man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his Japanese wife to death outside a Tokyo court before they were due to have a divorce hearing.
The man has not been named but is described by local media as a 32-year-old US citizen. His name was not released due to concern about his mental condition and his motive was not known, police said.


The victim, identified as Kyoko Wilson, 31, was taken to a hospital but later died, police said
They were near a security check outside the court when he allegedly lunged at her and stabbed her in the neck.

Outside the court, cops put up a partition to conceal the victim’s body

The 31-year-old woman was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead.

NHK says the suspect had three knives and police believe he ambushed the woman when she walked into the building.

Images on local television networks appeared to show a bald man lying on the floor being treated by police at around the time of the man’s arrest.
It is not clear if he was injured in the incident, or how long after the attack he was arrested.
