Sydney lost her best friend Meadow Pollock in the February 2018 attack that left 14 students and three faculty members dead
She was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and battled ‘survivor’s guilt’

The second Parkland shooting survivor to take his own life has been identified as 16-year-old Calvin Desir.
The sophomore at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School who died in ‘an apparent suicide’ on Saturday night was named by family members who set up GoFundMe campaign to cover his funeral costs.
Loved ones described Calvin as a loving and selfless teen who aspired to become an engineer.
His death came less than a week after his classmate, 19-year-old Sydney Aiello, took her own life last Sunday. Both students reportedly died of a gunshot to the head.
