<p class="mol-para-with-font">Two 14-year-old girls from Florida were arrested on Wednesday on charges of attempted conspiracy to commit murder after deputies say they drew up<br />
detailed plans to kill nine classmates.<br />
The Highland County School Board released a brief statement on Thursday confirming that two students at Avon Park Middle School were taken into custody on campus the day before. Their names are not being released because they are minors.</p>

<p class="imageCaption">According to the Highland County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, the teacher became alarmed after discovering the hit list in a folder labelled &#8216;private info,&#8217; &#8216;do not open,&#8217; and &#8216;project 11/9,&#8217; which also contained references to ‘guns.’<br />
The teacher reported that the two girls were &#8216;hysterical&#8217; while looking for the folder that they had misplaced. The teacher later found the item they were looking for and alerted the cops.<br />
The teacher told the authorities the folder contained eight sheets of papers, which laid out the girls’ alleged plot to kill nine students whose full names or initials were on the hit list.<br />
According to an incident report, the papers described how the juvenile suspects would obtain firearms to kill the victims and dispose of their remains, &#8216;specifically burning and burying their bodies.&#8217;<br />
‘The plans were written in great detail as to how they would lure the victims, kill the victims, and dispose of the victims&#8217; bodies,’ the report states.<br />

Also included in the folder were hand-written notes describing the clothing the girls would wear during the killing spree, such as gloves, and how they would look.<br />
‘NO NAILS’ and ‘No Hair Showing from the moment we put on our clothes,’ one note read, reported <a class="class" href="https://www.wtsp.com/article/news/local/2-teen-girls-planned-to-kidnap-kill-several-people-deputies-say/67-4c36cb41-3b58-4e73-a49b-4418d88667c7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">WTSP</a>.<br />
The teacher who foiled the alleged plot told investigators that as the girls were frantically scouring the classroom, including other students’ bags, in search of the lost folder, she allegedly overheard one of them tell the other: &#8216;I&#8217;m just going to tell them it&#8217;s a prank if they call me or if they find [the folder].&#8217;</p>

They face nine counts each of criminal attempt to conspire a capital felony for premeditated homicide and criminal attempt to conspire a third-degree felony for kidnapping.<br />
The sheriff&#8217;s office said detectives have contacted the families of all the students on the hit list.<br />
Andrew Lethbridge, deputy superintendent for Highlands County schools, issued a statement saying the threat is being taken very seriously.</p>
