Kearney, 42, and Schurtz, 35, Bboth of Jersey City, NJ were crushed to death by the 18-wheeler as they were headed to their wedding in Pittsburgh, Pa
Driver Jaspreet Singh Chahal was on his cellphone and didn’t brake, Kearney and Schurtz were pronounced dead at the scene from crushing injuries
He stayed at the scene of the crash but was not charged and a pain-staking investigation was launched
Now, seven months later, police have filed charges but they cannot Chahal as police say he was speaking to his sister at the time
The crash happened in Pennsylvania but Chahal is from California
