</span><span style="font-size: inherit;"><span style="font-size: inherit;">The shooting happened Sunday afternoon in the 1000 block of Suncrest Drive. Officers arrived to the scene to find an “unresponsive person” who was pronounced dead at the scene.<br />

</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">The mother of four was having an affair with the Oxford, Mississippi police officer who has been arrested over the murder.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Officer Matthew Kinne has been charged with the murder of Dominic Clayton by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, according to a court order signed Tuesday by Lafayette County Circuit Judge Andrew Howorth.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Kinne was arrested Monday night after Clayton was found dead by her son on Sunday.<br />

</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">WHBQ-TV reported Clayton, a mother-of-four, was found shot in the back of her head by her 8-year-old son after he was dropped at home Sunday by a family member.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Her son had tried to play a prank on his mother by leaving a toy snake outside the house. </span><span style="font-size: inherit;">However when he went inside, he came back out and told relatives that his mother was dead.<br />
The victim, Dominique Lashelle Clayton, was home alone Saturday because her four children were spending the night with their uncle.<br />

</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">In Mississippi, before police officers, teachers and certain other people can be arrested for crimes committed while they are on duty, a prosecutor is supposed to present evidence of probable cause to a judge.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Judge Howorth set a Wednesday hearing to consider whether that law applies, writing that state officials say Kinne &#8216;was not in performance of official duties as a law enforcement officer at the time of the alleged murder.&#8217;<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Kinne is jailed in neighboring Panola County. Howorth said he would consider whether to set bail on Wednesday and ordered that a lawyer be appointed for Kinne.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Kinne has been an Oxford officer for four years.<br />
