<div><span style="font-size: inherit;">A 40-year-old Nebraska man has been sentenced to two years in prison for having sex with, and marrying, his 21-year-old biological daughter.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Travis Fieldgrove learned his fate on Thursday, a month after pleading no contest to a charge of attempted incest in Hall County.<br />
Travis Fieldgrove and Samantha Kershner were married October 2018, in Hastings.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Fieldgrove and his daughter, Samantha Kershner, were <a href="https://konniemoments.com/2019/02/05/nebraska-woman-21-and-her-father-39-are-charged-with-incest-samantha-kershner-was-in-competition-with-her-half-sister-over-who-could-have-sex-first-with-dad-travis-fieldgrove/">both arrested on incest charges i</a>n February in Hastings, Nebraska, after police received a tip about their sexual relationship.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Police said the father and daughter both admitted to having a romantic and sexual relationship, even though they knew they were biologically related, and Kershner said she competed for her dad&#8217;s affection with her half-sister.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: inherit;">Fieldgrove initially was charged with committing incest, a felony. But under a plea agreement, he pled no contest in April to a charge of attempt ed incest.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Under the plea agreement, the prosecutor and public defender made a joint recommendation that Fieldgrove be sentenced to two years in jail.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Both sides agree that incest was committed, a fact proven by DNA tests.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;"><span style="font-size: inherit;">At his sentencing hearing on Thursday, ; Fieldgrove&#8217;s defense attorney, Jeff Loeffler, told the court his client is &#8216;very embarrassed&#8217; by what happened and wishes it never happened.<br />

</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">They met for the first time three years ago when Kershner, then aged 17, told her mother she wanted to know who her father was.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">Kershner and Fieldgrove met and maintained a father-daughter relationship for three years.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">They told police they had sex for the first time in September last year. The pair would not reveal how their father-daughter relationship turned sexual.<br />
</span><span style="font-size: inherit;">According to charging documents, Kershner told police that she had a &#8216;jealous competition&#8217; with her half-sister about who could have sex with their father first.<br />
