Responding police officers botched a successful rescue when they took 12 hours to get to suspect&#8217;s home near the city of Caracal after Macesanu&#8217;s third and final call on Thursday.<br />
In a further delay that&#8217;s lead to protests in Romania, they waited seven hours standing outside his house for a warrant to arrive, which they did not need, as it turned out.<br />
