<p>A man accused of storming into a Queens salon and stabbing his estranged wife to death in a jealous rage has been identified by police.<br />
William Rivas, 39, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon on Thursday for killing 35-year-old Iris Rodriguez.<br />
The victim was working at the Tu S’tilo Salon and Spa in Jackson Heights, Queens, at about 7pm Wednesday when Rivas sprang.<br />
In tha savage attack Rodriguez was stabbed multiple times in the chest as her stunned co-workers looked on in horror, according to authorities.<br />
<span style="color: var(--color-text);">Rivas was allegedly seen lying on top of Rodriguez&#8217;s lifeless body after the attack, whispering to her and crying as onlookers screamed in the background. </span><span style="color: var(--color-text);">Rivas allegedly attacked Rodriguez at the Tu S’tilo Salon and Spa in Jackson Heights, Queens, on Wednesday evening. </span></p>

<p>&#8220;35-year-old Carmen Iris Santiago was stabbed to death in a Queens beauty salon, Tu S&#8217;tilo Salon. Police have taken the suspect, Santiago&#8217;s estranged husband, into custody for the stabbing.&#8221;<br />

</span>Rivas was treated for a cut on his arm after being taken into custody. He was still in the hospital as of Thursday afternoon, according to police sources. Records indicate that the couple separated after about four years of marriage in January. A friend of Rodriguez said William Rivas became jealous when he saw his estranged wife talking to other men. <span style="color: var(--color-text);">The couple who married in the Dominican Republic before moving to New York to pursue their version of the American dream, before things went awry.<br />

&#8216;She said that he was aggressive, and she was a little scared, but never enough to think this [would happen],&#8217; the victim&#8217;s friend Rosa said.<br />
&#8216;She said he wanted her to live with him but she said she didn&#8217;t want to be with him. She said she didn’t want him to know where she lived.&#8217;<br />
Rodriguez leaves behind two young sons, an eight-year-old and a toddler.<br />
Just 30 minutes before her death, Rodriguez shared a harrowing quote on Facebook.<br />
Translated from Spanish, the quote reads: &#8216;Life asked death: Why do people love me, but hate you? Death answered: because you are a beautiful lie, and I am a painful truth.&#8217;<span style="color: var(--color-text);"> </span></p>
