Tevin Biles-Thomas was being held Friday at Liberty County Jail in Georgia. He has been charged with three counts of murder, after shooting and killing three men in Ohio, during a New Year’s Eve party
The older brother of Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has been arrested on murder charges in connection with the shooting on New Year’s Eve in Cleveland that left three people dead and two wounded.
Tevin Biles-Thomas, 24, of Cleveland, was arrested Thursday at Fort Stewart in Georgia in the Dec. 31 shooting at an Airbnb property, according to a joint statement from the Cleveland Division of Police and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office.
The killing occurred on the 4400 block of Denison Ave. on December 31.
According to authorities, the apartment building had been operating as an Air BnB and one of the units was hosting a New Year’s Eve party.
A group of men who were uninvited entered the house and “an altercation ensued” with the invited guests. The uninvited men allegedly started firing shots after being asked to leave.
Delvante Johnson, 19, and Toshaun Banks, 21, were pronounced dead at the scene, and Devaughn Gibson, 23, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
A woman was also treated and released at the hospital, while another man arrived there himself after being shot in the back of the head.
The suspects fled the area and no weapons were recovered.
Biles-Thomas, who is on active duty with the Army, has been charged with six counts of murder, three counts of voluntary manslaughter, five counts of felonious assault and one count of perjury, NBC News reports.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley congratulated Cleveland police after the arrest in Georgia.
“The relentless persistence of Cleveland Police Homicide detectives helped secure an indictment in this case,” O’Malley said in a statement. “It is through their hard work that we can begin to seek justice for these victims.”
Biles-Thomas is being held at Liberty County Jail in Hinesville, Georgia. An arraignment is set for Sept. 13 in Cleveland, although it is unknown when he may be extradited.
His Olympic champion sister has not directly addressed the arrest on social media, but she tweeted twice late Thursday night.
On Thursday night, Simone tweeted, “Let people assume incorrectly,” she wrote, before posting, “eating my feelings don’t talk to me,” but it’s unclear what issue she was addressing.
