<p class="mol-para-with-font">Aimers of Willingboro was sentenced on Thursday to six years’ probation after he pleaded guilty to two counts of simple assault, indecent exposure, and disorderly conduct &#8211; all misdemeanors, according to records.<br />
The simple assault charges stem from a separate incident involving Aimers and another staff member who told him he could not take alcohol outside, at the reception venue.<br />
As part of the plea agreement with Bucks County, Pennsylvania, prosecutors, the more serious charges, including indecent assault, imprisonment of a minor, harassment, and other offenses, were dropped.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">A Bucks County official said Aimers was ordered to have no contact with the victim.<br />
Aimers is also required to undergo anger management and must continue treatment with a therapist.</p>

<div>Bucks County Assistant District Attorney Megan Hunsicker told the <a class="class" href="https://www.inquirer.com/news/matthew-aimers-sex-assault-wedding-northampton-valley-country-club-20200116.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Philadelphia Inquirer</a> on Thursday that prosecutors decided it was best to negotiate a plea agreement with Aimers after consulting with the alleged victim.<br />
Hunsicker said that the plea deal was ‘the best outcome.’<br />
‘The victim in this case was highly traumatized by what he did to her,’ Hunsicker said.<br />
‘His actions were inappropriate and unwarranted.<br />
‘This conviction will, I hope, provide her with a resolution that allows her life to move on.’<br />
Aimers’ lawyer, Louis Busico, expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the case.<br />
‘As of last week, we were fully ready and prepared to proceed to trial on all charges in both cases,’ Busico said.<br />
‘However, when additional discussions and negotiations produced a result which would not incarcerate Mr. Aimers, which would not result in any felony convictions, and would not have any registration requirements, we believed it was in the best interest to resolve this case in this fashion, so his life can go on.’<br />

He then began kissing and touching her inappropriately, according to investigators.<br />
Aimers is then alleged to have exposed himself to the waitress.<br />
‘Can you kiss me like you mean it?’ Aimers is said to have told the waitress during the encounter.<br />
The waitress was then able to push Aimers away and escape, according to authorities.<br />
Aimers was arrested a few hours after the reception on unrelated charges after he punched an employee who tried to keep him from taking alcohol outside.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Aimers was supported publicly by his wife, Kayla, who was seen holding her husband’s hand as they made their way into court for proceedings.<br />
His attorney said their united front was proof of his innocence, telling the court: &#8216;If he committed a crime, not even Dr. Phil could keep them together.<br />
&#8216;And the fact that they still are together shows that my client is an innocent man.&#8217;</p>
