The wife of one time Turkish soccer superstar Yagmur Asik has been accused of plotting to have her husband murdered for a contract fee of $1.3million [10 million Turkish Liras] paid to an assassin, according to reports.
Yagmur, 27, married ex-Turkey international Emre Asik, 46, back in 2012.
Asik represented all three main Istanbul clubs, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas – as well as winning 34 caps for Turkey, amassing a fortune during a successful career.
The couple since have had three children together. The trophy wife later was accused of having an affair and Asik began the process of filing for divorce.

Turkish paper Hurriyet, however, reports that Yagmur Asik subsequently decided to have her husband murdered.
In documents claimed to have been taken from the public prosecutor’s office, Yagmur’s lover Erdi Sungur alleges that she initially tried to get him to commit the killing
She later turned instead to a professional assassin tokk the contract for a fee of $1.3M.
Sungur told prosecutors: “I had an affair with Yagmur.
“She was only thinking of inheriting the fortune after Emre Asık’s death. She asked me to kill him, but I refused.
“Once she brought me a piece of meat. She wanted me to shoot the meat. I did attempt to shoot, but I squinted. ‘You can’t do it,’ she yelled angrily.”
After being confronted over not being able to carry out the crime himself, Sungur is alleged to have contacted the contract killer himself . He introduced Yagmur to a hitman who had served time in prison for three murders.
The documents claim that Yagmur procured a weapon for the assassin and assisted as they searched rural areas and uplands in Düzce to find a “safe place” to bury the ex-soccer player after the hit.

The plot derailed before the planned murder when the contract killer grew a conscience and blew the plan by reporting the scheme to the intended target.
Yagmur and Sungur both are now in custody awaiting trial for attempted murder.
